For matching 6GB/128GB configurations, Samsung’s India launch prices put the Galaxy M17 5G at ₹13,999 and the Galaxy A06 5G at ₹12,999—a ₹1,000 difference. The M17’s main advantages are its sharper FHD+ Super AMOLED display, OIS-equipped main camera and longer stated software support. The A06 5G costs less at launch while retaining 5G, a 90Hz screen, a 5,000mAh typical battery, 25W charging support and IP54 protection. These are historical launch prices, not verified current prices.

Samsung lists the A06 5G as shipping with Android 15 and One UI 7 at launch. The update figures are manufacturer policies, not independent guarantees: Samsung says plans and timing can change. What was the India launch-price difference?
Samsung’s announced prices show a ₹1,000 gap at both matching 4GB/128GB and 6GB/128GB configurations. The M17 5G also had an 8GB/128GB launch option. These are Samsung India launch figures from 2025, not current retailer quotes.

The A06 5G launch announcement also listed a 4GB/64GB version at ₹10,499, for which no corresponding M17 configuration is listed in the cited launch announcement. Samsung says prices and specifications may change and availability can vary by location. When checked on 4 October 2026, both Samsung product pages showed “Not for sale” and no usable price; that page state does not establish that no retailer has stock. Check the same RAM/storage variant, seller, condition, warranty and applicable discounts before comparing a current offer.

Which screen is better for everyday use?
The M17 5G has the clear advantage on the listed display specifications. Both phones have a nominal 6.7-inch-class screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, but the M17’s 1080 × 2340 Super AMOLED panel has substantially more resolution than the A06 5G’s 720 × 1600 PLS LCD. That difference is relevant when reading text, watching video or viewing fine detail. The specifications establish the panel and resolution difference, not a measured brightness or side-by-side viewing result.
How do the cameras compare?
The M17 5G has more extensive camera hardware on paper: Samsung lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, plus 5MP and 2MP rear cameras, and a 13MP front camera. The A06 5G has a 50MP main and 2MP depth rear setup, with an 8MP front camera; OIS is not listed for it. OIS is a hardware feature intended to help steady the main camera, but these specifications alone do not prove which phone takes better photos or video in real use.

What do they share—and what remains different?
Connectivity, battery and charging
Both are 5G phones and list a 5,000mAh typical battery and 25W charging support. Samsung notes the wall charger is sold separately for each model. A typical battery-capacity figure is not a battery-life test; actual runtime varies with use and conditions.

Both phones carry an IP54 rating, which indicates protection against dust ingress and water splashes under specified conditions, not waterproofing. Samsung says resistance is not permanent and advises against beach or pool use. Samsung additionally advertises Gorilla Glass Victus on the front of the M17 5G.

Processor and memory expansion
The A06 5G uses MediaTek Dimensity 6300 and the M17 5G uses Exynos 1330. The listed processor names do not establish a performance winner: no directly comparable benchmark or controlled performance test is available here. Samsung’s linked M17 6GB/128GB specification page lists microSD support up to 2TB; the cited A06 information does not establish an equivalent expansion limit.

Choose the Galaxy M17 5G if
- You prioritize the higher-resolution Super AMOLED screen.
- You want OIS listed on the main rear camera and a higher-resolution front camera.
- You value Samsung’s longer stated update policy and accept paying more if the current price preserves that premium.
Choose the Galaxy A06 5G if
- You want the lower-priced option based on Samsung’s historical launch tiers.
- You are comfortable with an HD+ PLS LCD, a simpler listed rear-camera setup and a shorter stated support period.
- You want the shared basics—5G, 90Hz refresh, 5,000mAh typical battery, 25W charging support and IP54—without paying for the M17’s listed display and camera additions.
No hands-on comparison, camera test, battery test or benchmark result is established here. For a purchase decision, use the current prices and terms offered by the specific seller rather than assuming the 2025 launch-price gap still applies.
