To remove Samsung Email itself, open Settings > Apps > Samsung Email and use Uninstall if it is available; otherwise, choose Disable or hide the app if your Galaxy offers those options. To remove only a mailbox, use Samsung Email’s own settings. To unlink an account from the phone, use Galaxy’s account settings. These are different actions: removing an account from the device does not delete the email account with its provider.
Choose what you want to remove
First decide whether you want to stop using the app, stop one mailbox from syncing in Samsung Email, or remove an account from the Galaxy device. The right route depends on that goal.

Remove an account from Samsung Email only
Use this option if you want to keep Samsung Email but no longer want a particular mailbox configured in it. Samsung’s support instructions describe these steps; the exact labels may differ with app version, device, language, and region.

- Open the Email app (Samsung Email).
- Open the app menu and tap Settings.
- Select the email account you want to remove.
- Tap Remove, review the notice, and confirm by tapping Remove again if prompted.
This removes the mailbox from Samsung Email. If the account remains configured elsewhere on the phone, this app-level action does not necessarily remove it from the device’s account manager.

Remove an email account from Galaxy settings
Choose this route if you want to unlink the account from the phone, rather than only from Samsung Email. Samsung’s US support route is:
- Open Settings.
- Tap Accounts and backup, then Manage accounts.
- Select the email account.
- Tap Remove account and follow the on-screen prompts.
Some accounts require additional verification, such as entering the account password. Removing an account also removes its associated email, contacts, and settings from that device, according to Google’s Android guidance. It does not permanently delete the account or mailbox with the email provider; account deletion is a separate provider process.

If you do not see those exact labels, search Settings for accounts or the account name. Depending on the Android version and device, the account section may instead be labelled Passwords & accounts, Users & accounts, or Manage accounts. Google notes that some of its listed steps apply only to Android 14 and later.

Uninstall, disable, or hide Samsung Email
Samsung Email may be removable on one Galaxy model and restricted on another. Samsung UK Support explains that some pre-installed apps can be deleted, while others can only be hidden or disabled; the available action depends on the app and device software.

- Open Settings > Apps.
- Select Samsung Email. If it is not immediately visible, use the app list search.
- If Uninstall appears, tap it and confirm to remove the app.
- If Uninstall is unavailable but Disable appears, tap Disable and confirm.
- If neither option is offered, check whether the Home screen’s app settings include an option to hide apps.
You can also check the app’s long-press menu for an uninstall or disable option. Disabling stops the app’s functions and removes it from the Home and Apps screens. Samsung says a disabled app can be enabled again through Settings > Apps. Hiding changes its visibility rather than uninstalling it. Menu names and available choices vary by Galaxy model and software version, so full removal cannot be guaranteed on every device.

A Samsung account is not the same thing as the Samsung Email app or an email address configured inside it. Removing a third-party mailbox through Samsung Email’s settings will not sign you out of your Samsung account. If your goal is to unlink the Samsung account itself, use the Samsung-account-specific account controls and consider the effect on Samsung services before signing out.

What to expect after account removal
- Device-level removal affects local access: associated email, contacts, and settings are removed from that phone, as described in Google’s Android account-removal guidance.
- It is not online account deletion: the provider account remains unless you separately request its deletion through the provider.
- You may be able to add it again: signing back in or adding the account again is generally possible if you have the credentials and the provider permits it.
- Verification may be required: for example, removing the only Google account on a device may prompt for the device PIN, pattern, or password.
