Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ disclosed 2026 AI-server supply agreements were reported to total about US$2.6 billion, according to DIGITIMES on September 30, 2026. That figure is a reported aggregate—not one contract and not a total itemized in the company releases reviewed. Samsung has separately confirmed two 2027 supply agreements, worth 1.0722 trillion won and 290 billion won, while keeping both customers unnamed.
What the reported $2.6 billion counts
DIGITIMES reported the roughly US$2.6 billion figure as the value of Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ disclosed 2026 supply agreements. Samsung’s official announcements confirm individual deals, but do not provide a reconciliation showing how those deals add up to that aggregate. The total should therefore be attributed to DIGITIMES, rather than described as a company-quoted figure or a single contract.
The aggregate concerns supply agreements. It does not include the separate 6.78 trillion won FCBGA capacity-investment plan announced by Samsung on September 29. That is planned capital spending, not a customer contract.

Two September agreements Samsung confirmed
| Announcement | Value and scope | Supply timing | Disclosure |
|---|---|---|---|
| September 1, 2026 | 1.0722 trillion won (about US$780 million); AI-server MLCC supply agreement | January 1–December 31, 2027 | Samsung described the customer as a major global company; it did not name the buyer in the English release. Samsung Electro-Mechanics |
| September 29, 2026 | 290 billion won; AI-server component agreement | 2027 | Samsung described the customer as a global company and called the deal a one-year MLCC contract in its English release. DIGITIMES characterized the components as MLCCs and inductors. Samsung Electro-Mechanics; DIGITIMES |
These are future supply commitments, not amounts identified as current-period sales. The disclosures do not say how much revenue, if any, will be recognized at signing, nor do they publish the contract terms beyond the stated supply period and agreement value.

- Intel dual CPU sockets: This C612 server chip motherboard is designed with dual CPU sockets, which can support Intel Core i7 5th/6th generation processors and Xeon E5 V3/V4 series processors on LGA 2011-3 socket. (Note: If only one CPU is installed, please install it in the right slot, and the graphics card needs to be installed in the bottom two slots.)
- DDR4 4-channel memory slot: The memory slot of the LGA 2011-3 motherboard is designed with four channels, which can install 8 memory. It supports effective frequencies of 2133/2400MHz, and the maximum capacity is 256GB. (Non-ECC memory is not compatible when using E5 V4 series processors)
- PCIe 3.0 protocol standard: Equipped with 4 PCIe 3.0 X16 graphics card slots (with steel case). The transfer rate can reach 15.754 GB/s using one graphics card, and the performance can be improved by at least 50% by using two graphics cards. Equipped with dual M.2 hard disk slots, it can achieve fast reading even if multiple programs are running
- Stable power supply: use 24+8+8pin standard power supply interface (need to use a dedicated power supply for dual server motherboards), 12 (CPU) + 4 (memory) + 1 (C612 chip) phase power supply. Precise modularization provides good heat dissipation and makes the program run more stably
- Strong expandability: The X99 motherboard is equipped with multiple expansion interfaces to ensure that the motherboard has more room for improvement. These include 4*USB 3.0 ports, 4*USB 2.0 ports, 10*SATA 3.0 ports, 4*3pin sys fan, 2*4pin CPU fan. Besides, dual network ports allow your computer to do more things
What the components do
MLCCs help stabilize power in demanding servers
MLCC stands for multilayer ceramic capacitor. In AI servers, these capacitors help manage electrical power close to chips and other components. Samsung says server-grade MLCCs must handle high temperatures and voltages while delivering high capacitance and reliability. The company’s second-quarter report also linked growth in MLCC sales for AI servers, networks and data centers to rising component demand. Samsung’s MLCC announcement; Q2 2026 results
Inductors are included in secondary reporting on the newer deal
Samsung’s English announcement describes the September 29 agreement as an MLCC contract. DIGITIMES’ account gives a broader product description, saying the newer AI-server component agreement includes MLCCs and inductors. Those descriptions should remain attributed to their respective sources; the official release does not list inductors in its wording.

Why FCBGA investment is a separate story
FCBGA, or Flip Chip-Ball Grid Array, is a semiconductor package substrate that connects processors and other chips to a mainboard, carrying signals and power between them. Samsung says AI accelerators, GPUs and CPUs increasingly require larger, higher-layer-count and more integrated substrates as AI and high-performance computing workloads advance. The company says the projects have customer funding support and mid- to long-term volume commitments. It plans Sejong investment from September 2026 through May 2028, with mass production planned from September 2028. Vietnam construction is targeted for completion, with operations planned by June 2030. These are future plans, not capacity already in production.

The investment may support future substrate supply, but Samsung’s announcement does not identify it as part of the reported US$2.6 billion agreement total. Nor does it establish that the two September AI-server contracts are the customer commitments supporting those FCBGA projects.
