Samsung Customization Service personalizes Samsung content and recommendations using information about your account and how you use Samsung services. You can turn it off or limit information categories in Samsung Account settings, but switching it off does not delete data already collected.
What is Samsung Customization Service?
Samsung describes Customization Service as a personalization feature that uses information about you and your use of Samsung services to tailor content and recommendations. Examples in Samsung’s U.S. notice include voice-recognition hints based on context, music suggestions based on listening history, and a reminder related to a location. It is an account-linked feature, not a separate app or device utility to install.
Personalization can change when you deny access to information or delete stored data. Samsung says default features of its services remain available when Customization Service is disabled, although the customized experience may be reduced. Samsung’s U.S. Customization Service page
What information may it use?
Samsung’s U.S. privacy notice lists possible categories; it does not say every category is collected from every person or device. What applies depends on settings, location controls, consent, device support, and the notice for the relevant service.

Samsung’s U.S. privacy notice lists these paths. Labels and availability can vary by device model and software version; Samsung’s Galaxy privacy support guidance also notes that not all features are available on every device.

Should you disable it or adjust categories?
Your practical options are to keep Customization Service enabled while limiting permitted categories, or disable it. Keeping selected categories may preserve some tailored content; disabling stops customization through this service. Choose based on whether you value personalized recommendations more than allowing the associated information to be used.

Disabling suspends customized content and collection and analysis under Customization Service. It does not turn off the default features of Samsung services, though recommendations and other tailored experiences can change. You can also manage categories rather than disabling the entire feature.
Does turning it off delete information already collected?
No. Disabling Customization Service stops future collection and analysis under that service, but does not itself erase previously collected information. To request deletion of particular categories, use Samsung Account privacy or data-management settings. Samsung says server-side deletion can take time. The notice also describes deleting the Samsung Account for broader deletion; consider the consequences for other account-linked services before doing so.

No. You can opt out of Customization Service using information for customized ads, but that does not guarantee an ad-free Samsung experience. Samsung says ads controlled by other services may continue.
