If you’re asking “How do I access photos on Samsung Cloud?”, first check where the photos are stored: Samsung says Gallery photos and videos cannot be backed up to Samsung Cloud. The old Samsung Gallery–OneDrive sync ended on September 30, 2026, but photos previously synced through it remain accessible in OneDrive. You can download those files from the OneDrive app or website.
First, identify which Samsung storage you mean
“Samsung Cloud photos” can refer to three different things: photos saved on your Galaxy device, older Gallery photos synced to OneDrive, or a Samsung Cloud device backup. These are not interchangeable. Samsung’s current US support guidance says Gallery photos and videos cannot be backed up to Samsung Cloud; its device backup and restore features cover other listed categories.
- Photos currently on your phone or tablet: Look in the device’s Gallery app.
- Photos synced from Gallery before the service ended: Look in the linked OneDrive account.
- Samsung Cloud device backup: Check Samsung Cloud in Settings, but do not assume that the backup contains Gallery photos.

Samsung says Gallery Sync with OneDrive ended on September 30, 2026. The Gallery sync feature is no longer available, so new photos will not continue syncing through that integration. Previously synced files remain in OneDrive. Samsung’s Australia notice says: “Your existing photos and videos synced from Gallery sync with OneDrive will remain safely stored in OneDrive and can still be accessed through the OneDrive app.”

Download on a Galaxy phone or tablet
- Open the OneDrive app and sign in to the Microsoft account that was linked to Gallery sync.
- Open the Gallery or Photos tab, if shown, or browse to the folder where the files are stored. Tab names can vary.
- Select a photo or video, then tap Download.
- Open Gallery to find the downloaded item alongside your other device photos.
Download on a computer
- Sign in to OneDrive in a web browser using the account linked to Gallery sync.
- Select the photos or folders you want.
- Choose Download. If you select multiple items, OneDrive may download them as a ZIP archive.
For multiple downloads to a phone or tablet, Samsung says only files that fit within the device’s available storage will be saved. Check free space before downloading, then confirm the files are present and open correctly before deleting or removing cloud copies.
Restore a deleted photo from OneDrive
Samsung’s US support article says deleted Gallery files remain in the OneDrive Recycle bin for 93 days, according to its current support guidance. The period depends on the service’s policy and is not a permanent recovery guarantee.

- In the OneDrive mobile app, open the profile menu.
- Tap Recycle bin.
- Open the options for the photo or video and choose Restore.
Samsung also says you can restore deleted files through the OneDrive website. If you do not see an item in the Recycle bin, it may no longer be recoverable there.

To view Samsung Cloud backup and restore options on a Galaxy device, open Settings, tap your Samsung account name, then tap Samsung Cloud. The available categories and menu labels can vary by device and software version. If the menu is hard to find, use Settings search for “Samsung Cloud.”

This is the place to review Samsung Cloud device backup options—not to retrieve Gallery photos. Samsung states that photos and videos cannot be backed up to Samsung Cloud and directs users to Microsoft OneDrive for Gallery backup.

The discontinued Gallery sync integration will not back up future photos. Samsung’s regional guidance identifies OneDrive’s Camera backup and Google Photos backup as separate options for ongoing automatic photo backup. Set up the option you choose independently; it does not restart the old Gallery sync.

- Confirm which account the backup app uses.
- Check which folders or albums are included, rather than assuming every image folder is backed up.
- Verify that backup is enabled and that new photos appear in the selected account.
App menus, eligibility, and availability can differ by country, carrier, and software version, so check the options shown on your own device.

If a download is missing or incomplete
- The OneDrive account looks empty: Check that you are signed in to the Microsoft account previously linked to Gallery sync, then browse the account’s folders as well as its Photos or Gallery view.
- A bulk download is incomplete on your device: Check available storage. Samsung says a multi-item download saves only files that fit.
- The file is in OneDrive but not Gallery: Download it to the device first; Samsung says downloaded items can then be found in Gallery.
- You expected photos in Samsung Cloud: Check OneDrive for files formerly synced from Gallery. Samsung Cloud device backup does not include Gallery photos and videos.
