Choose Samsung Art Store for convenient access to a changing, curated catalog on a supported Samsung TV; buy digital art if you want to select particular images and are willing to check their display rights and file compatibility. You may not need either option right away: compatible TVs can offer select free artwork, and The Frame can display personal photos. Check your exact TV model and region before relying on any feature or price.
How the two options differ
| Decision | Samsung Art Store | Buying digital art |
|---|---|---|
| How you get art | Browse a curated catalog through the Art experience on supported Samsung TVs. Samsung describes a catalog of more than 5,000 works; availability can change. | Choose individual works from a seller. No specific seller or license was verified here, so terms and selection depend on the seller. |
| Cost | Samsung’s US page lists $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. Check the current checkout price for your region. | Seller prices and access terms vary. A purchase does not by itself establish permission for every use or device. |
| Setup | Browse on a supported TV; Samsung also describes SmartThings access on compatible devices. | Find an image, verify its license and file specifications, then transfer it using a method your TV supports. |
| Selection | Samsung curates collections and features works from museums, galleries, photographers and contemporary artists. | You choose the artist and image, within the seller’s selection and the license terms. |
| What you can keep | Treat it as subscription access to a catalog, not ownership of downloadable image files. Samsung’s materials describe membership and access, not a permanent personal license to each work. | Read the seller’s license to understand what your purchase permits. The word “purchase” alone does not settle display rights. |
| TV requirements | Requires a supported Samsung TV; compatibility varies by model year and market. | May work on a TV that accepts user images, but the available transfer route depends on the TV. |
When Samsung Art Store makes sense
Art Store is the simpler fit if you already own a compatible Samsung TV and want to change displayed art without finding and transferring each image yourself. Samsung says its catalog contains more than 5,000 works, but the catalog can change and access is tied to the service.
Samsung’s US Art TV page lists $4.99 monthly or $49.99 annually. The annual amount is roughly the cost of ten monthly payments, before taxes or regional differences. Samsung’s 2026 US announcement separately states a $4.99 monthly price plus taxes and fees. Confirm the price shown at checkout before subscribing, since prices and availability can change.
Compatibility is not universal across Samsung TVs. Samsung’s US Art TV page lists The Frame and select other 2026 TVs, while separate support material describes features for particular model years. Samsung’s Australian compatibility list is specific to Australia and should not be used as a US model list. Check the product page or support information for the exact model and region.

When buying individual digital art makes sense
Buying individual files may suit you if you want one particular image or artist, or prefer to decide for yourself what appears on the screen. It avoids paying for a catalog subscription if the seller offers the art you want on terms that fit your use.
Before paying, check that the seller’s license allows display on a household television. Then confirm the file’s resolution, aspect ratio and orientation suit your TV. A file that looks right on a phone or computer may crop or display poorly on a television. Finally, verify that the TV supports your intended transfer method. Samsung documents SmartThings and USB import for personal photos on The Frame; that guidance does not certify third-party art files or their licenses.

No particular digital-art seller or seller-specific price is established here. Compare the actual license and file details rather than assuming that a downloadable image purchase includes every display right.
