To disconnect a Samsung or Google account from a Galaxy phone or tablet, remove that account in the device’s account settings. This removes it from the device; it does not inherently delete the online account or unlink the two accounts permanently. If you only want to stop data syncing, change sync settings instead.
Remove a Samsung or Google account from a Galaxy device

Open Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts.

Tap the Samsung or Google account you want to remove.

Choose Remove account, then follow the confirmation prompts on screen.

Samsung’s US instructions say removing a Samsung account may require signing out and entering the account password. Removing a Google account may prompt for identity verification when device protection features are enabled. Follow the device’s verification steps; do not try to bypass them. Menu labels vary by Galaxy model, carrier, and software version. If the route differs, search Settings for “Manage accounts” or “Accounts.” Samsung Australia documents the same route for Australian-variant Galaxy devices; other regional variants may differ. What account removal does—and does not do
Removing an account takes it off that device. Google says the account’s associated email, contacts, and settings are removed from the device. This is not the same as permanently deleting the Google account or its online services. Samsung likewise distinguishes removing a Samsung account from permanently deleting it; the account can be added to the device again later. Android’s general route is Settings > Passwords & accounts, though the label can instead be Users & accounts, Passwords, passkeys & autofill, Password, passkeys & accounts, or Manage accounts. Select the account, choose Remove account, and confirm. If it is the only Google account on the device, Android may ask for the device PIN, pattern, or password. Choose removal or turn off synchronization

If your goal is only to stop updates, look for synchronization controls before removing the whole account. Samsung support describes turning off automatic sync or disabling individual Google sync items. A global automatic-sync setting can affect other registered accounts too, so prefer per-account or per-item controls when available. If the settings path is missing, use Settings search for “Manage accounts” or “Accounts”; names and screens differ across Android versions, carriers, and regional device variants.
