You can’t use Samsung’s recovery flow to reveal a forgotten password. Instead, verify that the account is yours and set a new password. If you’ve also forgotten the account ID, recover that first.
Reset a forgotten Samsung account password
- Open Samsung account sign-in. On a Galaxy device, go to Settings > Samsung account. Samsung also documents starting in a browser at its Samsung account sign-in flow. Select Forgot password? Some screens group this under Forgot password or don’t have an account?.
- Enter your account ID or email address. Follow the prompts to identify the account and continue to the ownership check.
- Select a verification method offered for your account. Complete the instructions for the method you can access.
- Set a new password. After Samsung verifies ownership, follow its reset instructions and create a replacement password.
The available screens and methods depend on the account’s registered recovery information and can vary by country. Samsung’s Saudi Arabia support guide, updated April 22, 2026, says recovery options must have been set up beforehand.
Choose a recovery route you can still access

Not every account will show every route. Samsung’s instructions require the relevant recovery details to have been registered in advance; an unavailable option cannot be assumed or added as a workaround during recovery.

The account ID is separate from the password. If you do not know which email address or ID to enter, use Samsung’s Find ID or Forgot ID route before resetting the password. Samsung describes identifying the account with an email hint or a registered recovery email or phone. Its UK recovery guide, updated June 20, 2026, uses labels including Trouble getting your account ID? and Verify with recovery number or email.

If Samsung cannot verify you
- Check that you entered the account ID or email address associated with the account.
- Use a recovery email or phone only if it was registered beforehand and you can access it.
- If a code was sent by email, check that mailbox directly. For phone verification, use the code sent to the registered number.
- If the account’s email and phone are both inaccessible, follow the contact-support guidance on your local Samsung site. Samsung UK identifies Customer Support as the escalation route for that situation.
Samsung’s regional guidance does not establish a universal recovery time or guarantee that every account can be recovered. If you regain access and are offered a choice about other signed-in devices, read that screen before confirming: Samsung India’s guide describes an option to sign out of other active devices, but that detail should not be assumed to appear in every region’s reset flow.
