A community deal roundup dated October 6, 2026, reported the Samsung 9100 PRO 4TB NVMe SSD at $749.99 for Amazon Prime Big Deal Days. That is a reported price, not a live-verified Amazon offer: the listing, seller, stock, Prime eligibility, and checkout total have not been confirmed. Check the exact listing before buying.
What the $749.99 report does—and does not—confirm
The October 6 roundup identifies a $749.99 offer for the 4TB Samsung 9100 PRO, but it does not establish that every shopper can currently buy it for that amount. Retail prices and deal terms can change, so confirm the live checkout price and offer conditions before treating it as available.
- Match the listing to the non-heatsink model number, MZ-VAP4T0B/AM.
- Check the seller, stock status, Prime eligibility, shipping charge, and final checkout price.
- Look for any seller- or account-specific restrictions.
The roundup’s report is available from r/NewMaxx. Samsung’s launch MSRP was $549.99 for the non-heatsink 4TB model in February 2025, so $749.99 should not be described as a discount from that launch price. A retailer’s crossed-out price, if shown, would need to be checked against that listing rather than inferred from Samsung’s historical MSRP.

The deal report concerns the 4TB 9100 PRO without a heatsink, model MZ-VAP4T0B/AM. Samsung specifies an M.2 2280 form factor, PCIe 5.0 x4 interface, and NVMe 2.0. Its product specifications list Samsung V-NAND TLC, an in-house controller, and 4GB of low-power DDR4X cache memory. See Samsung’s product page for the non-heatsink model.

Do not confuse it with the separate 4TB heatsink version, model MZ-VAP4T0CW. Samsung lists the same peak sequential read and write specifications and warranty limit for that variant, but the heatsink changes its physical dimensions. Confirm the SKU and whether a heatsink is included rather than assuming the listing covers the other model. Samsung’s heatsink-model product page identifies that version.
How fast is the 9100 PRO?
Samsung rates the 4TB model for sequential reads up to 14,800 MB/s and sequential writes up to 13,400 MB/s. The product page also lists random read performance up to 2,200K IOPS. These are manufacturer maximum specifications, not independent benchmark results or a promise of the speed a particular computer will achieve.

Actual performance depends on the host system, workload, and operating conditions. Peak sequential figures alone do not show how much faster the drive will feel for a given task, so compare independent testing for your workload before paying a premium for the highest interface tier.

Will it work in your PC or console?
A 2280 M.2 connector alone is not enough to guarantee compatibility. Samsung lists client PCs and game consoles as applications, but the host device must support the drive’s physical format and interface. Check your motherboard or device manual and verify:

- There is an available M.2 2280 slot.
- The slot supports NVMe SSDs and the relevant PCIe generation. A PCIe 5.0 x4 drive’s full interface capability requires a suitable host slot; do not assume every M.2 slot provides it.
- The drive and any motherboard cover or other components have adequate physical clearance.
- The system’s cooling arrangement is appropriate for the installed drive, and any included or required heatsink will fit.
If the host supports a different PCIe generation, confirm its documented behavior with a PCIe 5.0 SSD rather than assuming the headline speeds will be available. For a console, check its manufacturer’s storage requirements and physical clearance before purchase.
Warranty and endurance limit
Samsung lists a five-year limited warranty or a 2,400 TBW limit for the 4TB 9100 PRO, subject to its warranty terms. TBW means terabytes written and is a stated endurance limit, not a guarantee that every drive will fail at that point. Review Samsung’s terms for the conditions that apply to your purchase and use.

Is it worth $749.99?
That depends on whether your system can use a PCIe 5.0 SSD, whether your workload benefits from high storage performance, and what comparable drives cost when you shop. The reported $749.99 price is above Samsung’s $549.99 launch MSRP for the non-heatsink 4TB model from February 2025; that historical figure is not a measure of today’s usual market price. Compare current prices per usable terabyte, compatibility, cooling needs, warranty, and independent workload testing before deciding.
