For Salesforce, start with the login URL your employer or administrator gave you. If you do not have a custom company URL, use https://login.salesforce.com for a production account or https://test.salesforce.com for a sandbox. Your organization may instead require its My Domain address or company single sign-on (SSO), so the right credentials will not work at the wrong host.

Choose the correct Salesforce login URL

Salesforce login depends on both the environment containing your account and your organization’s sign-in policy. Use the address supplied by your employer or Salesforce administrator whenever possible.

Account or sign-in route Login address When to use it
Production https://login.salesforce.com Your organization’s live Salesforce environment, if it allows the standard login URL.
Sandbox https://test.salesforce.com A non-production sandbox account, if your organization allows the standard sandbox URL.
My Domain Usually https://MyDomainName.my.salesforce.com Your organization requires a company-specific Salesforce login host.
Company SSO Use the URL or sign-in page provided by your organization. Your company routes Salesforce authentication through its identity provider.

These standard and custom routes are described in Salesforce’s login URL guidance. A Lightning record link is not a substitute for the organization’s login host; use the standard URL or My Domain when resolving repeated sign-in prompts. Salesforce notes that opening direct record URLs can lead to additional MFA prompts in some cases (Salesforce MFA guidance).

    • BUILT TO LAST: Made from tough, waterproof, and crush-resistant materials. Manufactured in Sweden and programmed in the USA with the highest security standards.
  2. Enter the username or other identity information requested by the page. Salesforce’s sign-in sequence changed in 2026: username-first sign-in began in June, and email-address login became the default starting in August for standard login URLs and mobile apps. Your screen may differ if your organization uses SSO or a custom sign-in route (Salesforce release guidance).

  3. Enter your password if prompted, then complete any verification or MFA challenge your organization requires.

If the page does not recognize your account, first check that you are at the correct production, sandbox, or My Domain host. If your company uses SSO, start from its designated sign-in page or contact IT rather than repeatedly trying credentials at a different Salesforce URL.

If you cannot access the registered email, do not know your username, or cannot complete verification, ask your Salesforce administrator or IT team to help. They can advise on the recovery options available to your organization.

Complete MFA or recover access when verification fails

Your administrator determines which multi-factor authentication methods are available. Salesforce lists Salesforce Authenticator, third-party authenticator apps, one-time passwords, built-in authenticators such as Face ID or Windows Hello, and WebAuthn/U2F security keys among its methods (Salesforce MFA methods).

Method type Examples Salesforce lists Practical distinction
App or code Salesforce Authenticator, third-party authenticator apps, one-time passwords Requires access to the configured app or code-delivery method.
Built-in authenticator Face ID, Windows Hello, and other platform authenticators Uses a compatible device’s built-in authentication capability.
Security key WebAuthn/U2F-compatible physical key Requires a compatible key and administrator enablement.

Salesforce classifies built-in authenticators and security keys as phishing-resistant in its method comparison; Salesforce Authenticator and third-party authenticator apps appear in its standard-tier methods. Availability depends on your organization’s configuration. If you have replaced your phone, lost access to your configured method, or cannot finish the prompt, contact your administrator to check whether your registration or recovery options need attention. Salesforce’s MFA documentation states that enforcement began in June 2026; requirements and available methods can depend on your organization’s setup (Salesforce MFA guidance).

How many devices can stay signed in?

Salesforce’s mobile app login guide says a user can be signed in to the app on five devices concurrently. When the user signs in on a sixth device, Salesforce automatically logs out the oldest session (Salesforce mobile app login guide).
