For a broad roster ranking, Pocket Gamer’s September 2, 2026 tier list for version 1.0.73 places Taurus Aldebaran (Hasgard), Griffon Minos (LC), Ophiuchus Asclepius, God Cloth Hyôga and several other Knights in S+. For a narrower view, Gameax’s September 23 list ranks 23 commonly recruited Knights for advanced PvE and Arena, with Saga, Shaka, Camus, Seiya and Ikki in S. These are editorial rankings with different scopes—not one universal order.
Broad roster tier list: Pocket Gamer, version 1.0.73
Pocket Gamer describes its September 2, 2026 list as covering currently available characters. It recommends prioritizing S+ and S, while treating A-tier Knights as viable until stronger options become available. The placements below are that guide’s editorial judgments, not official game ratings. Read Pocket Gamer’s full tier list.
| Tier | Knights listed in Pocket Gamer’s tier list |
|---|---|
| S+ | Taurus Aldebaran (Hasgard), Griffon Minos (LC), Ophiuchus Asclepius, God Cloth Hyôga, Pisces Albafica, Virgo Shijima, Balrog Lune, God Hades, Phoenix Ikki, Evil Saga, Shaka, Aioros, and other Knights. |
| S | King of the Underworld Alone, God Cloth Aries Mu, Pope Sage, Saga, Camus, Shina, Sagittarius Seiya, Aioria, Pandora, and other Knights. |
| A | Altar Hakurei, Partita, Pegasus Tenma, Shiryu God Cloth, Shun God Cloth, Kraken Isaac, Siren Sorento, Marin, and other Knights. |
| B | Shiryu, Orpheus, Taurus Ox, Aries Shion, Cygnus Hyoga, Ichi, Ban, Shun, and other Knights. |
| C | Geki, Black Andromeda, Hound, Graad Guard, Sanctuary Warrior, and Graveyard units. |
The guide’s September update added Taurus Aldebaran (Hasgard) and Griffon Minos (LC) for version 1.0.73. Its recommendation to use lower-ranked characters as upgrade material should not be treated as a verified game rule: confirm the game’s promotion mechanics before consuming a Knight.
Advanced PvE and Arena list: Gameax’s 23 common Knights
Gameax’s September 23, 2026 revision is deliberately narrower: it ranks 23 commonly recruited, common-version Knights for advanced PvE and Arena, and warns that a newer version of a character may rank differently. Read Gameax’s tier list and methodology.

Gameax says it considers ultimate-skill impact—including control, area damage and protection—along with speed and turn order, and the investment needed in awakenings, stars and equipment. Its explanation is useful for understanding its choices, but the tiers remain editorial assessments rather than results from a published statistical model.
Why the two rankings disagree
The lists cover different rosters and purposes, so their tiers should not be averaged into a single score. Even shared characters can land far apart: Pocket Gamer places Shaka in S+ while Gameax puts him in S; Shina is S in Pocket Gamer but C in Gameax; Marin is A versus C. Pocket Gamer’s wider list also includes special versions and newer additions, whereas Gameax explicitly shows common versions for its 23-character comparison. Check the exact version of a Knight as well as the mode before applying a placement.

How to choose Knights and spend resources
Start with the mode you actually play
Gameax’s rankings are for advanced PvE and Arena. A placement for those modes is not a guarantee of equal value elsewhere. Use the ranking whose scope most closely matches your goal, then consider what your own lineup lacks.
Build a formation, not a row of top-tier names
The official US App Store description says the game has six formation slots, six elements—Water, Fire, Air, Earth, Light and Darkness—and four Knight types: Protector, Warrior, Assassin and Skilled. It sums up its team-building emphasis with the line, “there is no strongest knight but only stronger formation.” That is promotional wording, but the practical point is sound: role fit and lineup composition matter alongside tier. See the official App Store description.

Compare opening impact with investment cost
A Knight who can control opponents, deal area damage or protect allies may have immediate value; turn order can also affect whether that impact arrives in time. Weigh those benefits against the awakenings, stars and equipment needed to make the character effective. Gameax says a lower-ranked Knight can outperform a nominally higher-ranked one in a suitable composition with adequate investment.
Use tier placements as a shortlist, not a spending command
Pocket Gamer advises prioritizing S+ and S summons and using A-tier characters while waiting for stronger options. That is the guide’s recommendation, not an official summon rule. Before committing scarce upgrade resources, check the target mode, your existing roles, the exact character version and the investment required. An A-tier Knight who fills a missing role may be a more useful next investment than a higher-tier duplicate that does not improve your formation.

Check whether the list is still current
New character releases can make older rankings incomplete. The official game site’s news feed showed videos for Taurus Aldebaran (Hasgard) on August 27, Thanatos (LC) on September 10 and Apollo on September 24, 2026. That release activity is a reason to check the update date and roster coverage before relying on an older list; it does not establish each character’s strength or availability in every region. Check the official game site.

What the rankings can—and cannot—prove
Neither ranking provides a comparable public win rate, pick rate or usage percentage for the characters. The sources also do not establish a shared numerical scoring method or a controlled match dataset that would validate one universal ordering. Use the lists as informed editorial guidance, and account for mode, version and team fit rather than reading a tier as a measured probability of winning.
The official US App Store listing describes Saint Seiya: Legend of Justice as a free iPhone and iPad idle RPG with in-app purchases. That listing does not establish current summon odds, prices or availability for every region, so those details should be checked in the relevant storefront or game client.
