Where was the rally held?
The reports describe the venue differently. Hindustan Times identifies Mannanhana village, while Babushahi describes the event as a rally at Chabbewal in Hoshiarpur. The reports do not provide enough information to reconcile those descriptions, so they should not be treated as interchangeable venue details.
Hindustan Times’s headline calls the event a “Punjab Bachao” rally, while its description uses “Punjab Bachaho.” Babushahi uses “Punjab Bachao.”

What development proposals did Badal make?
Badal said the proposals would be pursued if SAD formed the government; the reports do not establish that any had been approved or implemented.
- Kandi area development ministry: a proposed ministry focused on the Kandi region.
- Pathankot–Chandigarh expressway: a proposed route through the Kandi belt.
- Industrial package: a proposed special package for the Kandi area, including incentives such as cheaper power for new investors.
Hindustan Times reproduced Badal’s statement: “We will build an expressway linking Pathankot with Chandigarh covering the Kandi belt. We will also offer a special industrial package for the Kandi area and give incentives, including cheaper power, to new investors”. This is a campaign promise conditional on SAD forming a government, not confirmation of an approved project. Hindustan Times published the statement on October 3, 2026.

At the rally, Badal criticized the AAP government and alleged corruption. Hindustan Times reported that he called for an Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe into alleged activity involving postings and transfers and illegal mining. Babushahi’s October 2 account also reported his allegation that public money was being spent on publicity hoardings and his demand for an ED investigation into alleged illegal mining.
