No published, matched test shows that Ryujinx or Yuzu is faster on budget hardware. Which one runs a given game better depends on the game and its version, the exact build or fork, the graphics backend, the GPU driver, your settings, and whether shaders have already been compiled and cached. What the project documentation does establish is the hardware each one expects, why integrated graphics are the hard case, and what any fair comparison has to record.
What the published requirements tell you
Both projects publish setup guidance rather than performance results. The Ryubing setup guide for Ryujinx and the Yuzu mirror quickstart are both undated and were accessed in 2026. Their figures compare as follows:
| Item | Ryujinx (Ryubing setup guide) | Yuzu (mirror quickstart) |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum RAM | At least 8 GB | 12 GB for integrated graphics; not stated for dedicated GPUs |
| Recommended RAM | 16 GB DDR4 | 16 GB recommended for integrated graphics; 32 GB described as optimal |
| Graphics API | OpenGL 4.5 or Vulkan 1.2 or higher; the documentation also describes Metal through MoltenVK | OpenGL 4.6 or Vulkan 1.1 |
| Recommended CPU | Ryzen 5 3600 | Not stated |
| Recommended GPU | NVIDIA GTX 1060 6 GB | Not stated |
| What the figures describe | A recommended baseline for native resolution and frame rate; the guide does not state the games or target frame rate it was set against | Setup guidance; the quickstart says its recommendations do not guarantee perfect performance in all games |
Treat these numbers as the minimum you should check your machine against. They do not predict frame rates, and neither document ranks one emulator above the other.
Why integrated graphics change the comparison
Integrated graphics have no dedicated video memory. The Yuzu quickstart states that they use system RAM as video memory, so the RAM figure has to cover the operating system, the emulator, and the GPU at the same time. The same guide warns that integrated graphics produce very low performance and strongly recommends higher memory frequency.
#1 Best Overall
- System: AMD Ryzen 5 5500 3.6GHz 6 Cores | AMD B550 Chipset | 8GB DDR4 | 500GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD | Windows 11 Home
- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT 4GB Graphics | 1x HDMI | 1x DisplayPort
- Connectivity: 4 x USB-A 3.2 | 4 x USB-A 2.0 | 1 x LAN | WiFi 5 | Bluetooth 5.0 | 7.1 Channel Audio
- Tempered Side Case Panel | Custom RGB Lighting | Keyboard and Mouse
- 1 Year Parts & Labor Warranty, Free Lifetime Tech Support
- If your system has less than 12 GB of RAM and uses integrated graphics, you are below the Yuzu quickstart’s own minimum for that configuration.
- The Ryujinx guide, as reviewed, gives no separate integrated-graphics RAM figure. Its 8 GB floor is a general requirement, so do not read it as an integrated-graphics guarantee.
- Neither guide gives a frame-rate target for integrated graphics. Any figure you find for that configuration needs its full test conditions attached before you rely on it.
Graphics APIs: compatibility, not a speed ranking
The API lines in the table are the first gate. Your GPU and driver must support the version listed, or the build will not run the game properly regardless of speed. Passing that gate tells you nothing about which path is faster. A Vulkan path and an OpenGL path can behave differently depending on the driver, and the documentation does not rank them. Ryujinx’s documentation also covers Metal through MoltenVK, which applies to Apple systems and is outside the Windows and Linux budget PCs most readers compare.
First run versus a warmed run
Ryujinx uses a persistent translation cache. Its documentation says the performance benefit becomes available from the third launch after a game reaches the title screen or beyond. The wording in the reviewed material is terse, so check the current Ryubing documentation for the exact condition before you time a run. The effect is that the first session on a game can stutter while shaders are compiled, and later sessions can run more smoothly.

- Equipped with i5 Power for Gaming & Work - Runs on a high-performance i5 processor, delivering strong frame rates for 1080p gaming, and smooth performance in multitasking, streaming, or content creation.
- Speed and Stability in One - Boot up fast and load games instantly with a 256 GB M.2. Multitask with confidence using 8 GB RAM, known for its reliability in high-load scenarios.
- RGB Lighting and Advanced Cooling - Stay cool under pressure with four black RGB fans with a vertical design CPU cooler.
- Balanced Build with Efficient Power Delivery - Pre-installed in a matte black case with wide-voltage 400W power supply, this system offers future upgrade space and steady operation under full load.
- Graphics Notice – This unit is equipped with integrated graphics only; no dedicated GPU is included, and graphics performance is limited by shared system memory.
The Yuzu quickstart does not describe its cache behaviour, so do not assume it matches Ryujinx’s. Whatever you test, record which state each run started from.

- Gaming Performance: Designed to handle modern gaming titles and graphics-intensive tasks with smooth frame rates and visual quality
- Desktop System: Complete gaming desktop computer system ready for setup and use out of the box
- Ryujinx (original project): the Ryujinx documentation states that it was discontinued on October 1, 2024, when its creator was forced to abandon the project.
- Ryubing: its documentation describes it as a quality-of-life uplift for existing users and explicitly says it is not a revival of Ryujinx.
- Yuzu mirror quickstart: the setup guidance was accessed in 2026. It is not evidence of a current official upstream release.
Yuzu’s legal history is documented in a filed court record: a consent judgment and permanent injunction in Nintendo of America Inc. v. Tropic Haze LLC, which concerns the developer of Yuzu. It is useful context for checking the status of any Yuzu build before relying on it. It does not settle how emulation is treated in your jurisdiction, and this article does not offer legal advice on that point.

How to run your own comparison
- Pick one game and one version, and record the title update. Use the same version for both emulators.
- Choose a fixed scene and a fixed duration, and write down the start and end points so every run covers the same ground.
- Set the resolution, frame cap, and graphics settings, and keep them identical across both emulators. Record them using the fields listed above.
- Run the first session from a cold state. Note the cache state at the start, and keep this result separate from later runs.
- Run the same scene again once the cache has built up, following the launch-count threshold in the Ryujinx documentation.
- Log frame times and report the average along with the worst spikes, not just the average.
- Repeat each configuration several times and report the spread of results rather than a single figure.
Deciding what to test first
- Check your memory first. If you run integrated graphics with less than 12 GB, start with the game you care about most and judge the result against your own expectations, since the quickstart warns of very low performance in that setup.
- Check the API before the speed. If your GPU and driver do not support the version a build lists, that build is not an option on your machine.
- Check the build’s status. If you need ongoing updates, verify the date and maintenance status of the exact build before you commit to it.
The published requirements do not establish whether a particular laptop, motherboard, or power supply can accept a RAM or GPU upgrade, or which upgrade would help a given game most. Confirm compatibility with the device maker before buying anything.
