Ryan Reynolds’ action thriller Mayday reportedly slipped from No. 1 to No. 3 among U.S. Apple TV movies by October 5, 2026. The “end of an era” is a chart-position change—not a report that the film is leaving Apple TV, has been canceled, or marks the end of a franchise.
What changed in Mayday’s Apple TV ranking?
A syndicated ScreenRant report dated October 5, 2026 says Mayday had held the No. 1 spot for about a month after its reported September 4 release, then ranked No. 3 among Apple TV movies in the United States. The report places The Last First: Winter K2 and It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown above it in that snapshot.

Mayday stars Ryan Reynolds as a U.S. Navy pilot sent on a top-secret Cold War mission who becomes trapped behind enemy lines. Kenneth Branagh plays an eccentric former KGB agent who allies with him. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein wrote and directed the film.

What did the report say about reviews?
ScreenRant’s syndicated copy reported an 83% critics score and a 68% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It did not give a separate capture date for those figures, so they should be read as scores reported in that October 2026 article—not as verified current aggregates.
