Choose the Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB if it costs meaningfully less and your main priority is gaming performance without relying heavily on ray tracing. Choose the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB if its measured results in the games you play, ray-tracing performance, or software features you use justify the extra cost. Both cards have 16 GB of memory; neither is a universal winner, and the better buy depends on local prices and your workload.
What separates these two 16 GB cards?
They compete in the same broad gaming class, and both versions in this comparison have 16 GB of video memory. The RX 9060 XT and RTX 5060 Ti families also have 8 GB variants, so check the capacity in the exact product listing: an 8 GB card is not the model compared here.
For conventional rendering, review results show the RX 9060 XT 16 GB is a credible alternative to the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB. The size of the difference changes with the game, resolution, settings, and whether ray tracing is enabled. That makes your game library and the price of the specific cards more useful decision points than a single headline benchmark.
How do they perform in games?
ComputerBase’s June 2025 comparison found the RX 9060 XT 16 GB somewhat behind the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB in its tested averages, generally by less than 10% and often by less than 5%. Those figures describe ComputerBase’s test suite and settings, not a guaranteed difference in every game or system. GamersNexus’ testing likewise found game-dependent results, including cases in which the RTX 5060 Ti led by 5%, 6%, or more.

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
- Dual BIOS switch lets you toggle between Quiet and Performance BIOS profiles
- Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs
Use benchmarks that match your intended resolution and settings, and check whether the results use raster rendering or ray tracing. A small average gap may matter less than a larger difference in the particular games you play. If your favorite titles are not covered by the same test suite, look for results from a review that tests those titles under comparable conditions rather than treating one publisher’s average as universal.
When is the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB worth paying more for?
Consider the RTX 5060 Ti if reliable tests show it performs better in your games or if ray tracing is important to you and game-specific results favor it. Ray-tracing performance varies by title and settings, so do not assume either card wins every ray-traced test.

Software can also affect the choice. Before buying, check current support for the upscaling and frame-generation features you plan to use, along with compatibility in the creative, streaming, or other applications that matter to you. The available comparisons do not establish a comprehensive, current feature-by-feature result, so confirm support for your exact games and applications rather than relying on a broad feature claim.
How should you compare price and value?
Use the current local price for the exact 16 GB card you intend to buy. ComputerBase recorded European launch recommended prices in June 2025 of €369 for the RX 9060 XT 16 GB and €449 for the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB. These are historical reference prices, not current offers. A PC Gamer price-watch page observed listings in 2026 substantially above launch reference pricing, with differences by region; availability and listings can change.

As a practical rule, favor the RX 9060 XT when it is meaningfully cheaper and the RTX 5060 Ti’s advantages are not important in your use. Pay more for the RTX 5060 Ti only when its results in your games or software features make that extra cost worthwhile to you. Include retailer and warranty terms when comparing listings, and make sure each listing is for the 16 GB model.

Tom’s Hardware reports specified board power of 160 W for the RX 9060 XT 16 GB and 180 W for the RTX 5060 Ti. These figures are not a substitute for checking the exact partner card: cooler designs can differ in size and power requirements. Before ordering, compare the manufacturer’s specifications for the specific card with your PC.
Quick Recap
- Check the card’s length and thickness against the space available in your case.
- Confirm the required power connectors and the power supply recommendation for that exact model.
- Check that your case airflow and other installed components leave adequate room for the card.
- Review the listing’s warranty and return terms, particularly if you are choosing between partner-card designs.
Which card should you choose?
- Choose the RX 9060 XT 16 GB if it is meaningfully cheaper where you live and your priority is value-focused gaming.
- Choose the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB if its tested advantage in your games, ray-tracing results, or relevant software support justifies its local price premium.
- Compare exact cards before buying if case fit, power connections, retailer terms, or a specific application could decide the purchase.
