Feedly and Inoreader both document ways to follow Reddit, but Reddit support may be temporary: Inoreader reported on October 1, 2026, that Reddit planned to end RSS support on November 13, 2026. Inoreader had not confirmed a replacement. For other community sites, compatibility depends on the specific site and the feed or integration it makes available.

Which RSS readers can follow Reddit?

Two readers in the official sources reviewed document Reddit support, though neither source establishes that the support will remain available after Reddit’s announced cutoff.

Reader Documented Reddit features Access and limitations
Feedly Feedly describes following Reddit communities, searches, an account homepage, and top or best feeds. Its help instructions explain connecting a Reddit account. Setup requires signing in to Reddit and authorizing Feedly. Feedly’s reported update cadence and post limit date to 2021 and should not be treated as verified current limits. The cited Feedly pages do not address what happens after the announced cutoff.
Inoreader Inoreader lists Reddit among supported feed sources. In an October 1, 2026 update, Inoreader said Reddit planned to end RSS support on November 13, 2026. It said existing feeds would continue only while Reddit provides them and that no replacement was confirmed.

Feedly: community and search feeds with account authorization

Feedly’s instructions say to open the Reddit Feeds tab, connect a Reddit account, sign in, and authorize the connection. Its product article describes following communities and searches. Feedly wrote in 2021, “You can follow a Reddit search in Feedly so anytime new content is published that matches your search, you’ll see the new posts in your Feeds.” The statement predates Reddit’s announced change, so it describes the feature as documented then, not a guarantee of future availability. Feedly’s Reddit setup instructions and its product article provide the details.

Feedly’s April 6, 2021 article reported that Reddit sources updated every 10 minutes and were limited to 1,000 posts per source per day. Those are historical vendor figures, not independently rechecked current limits. The article also said the feature was available on all plans at that time; current plan access is not established by that dated statement. Check Feedly’s article and its current interface for up-to-date details.

Inoreader: listed support with a stated cutoff risk

Inoreader’s help documentation lists Reddit as a source, but its October 1, 2026 company update makes that listing time-sensitive. The company said Reddit planned to stop supporting RSS feeds on November 13, 2026. It stated, “Your existing Reddit feeds in Inoreader will continue to receive updates for as long as Reddit provides them.” Inoreader also said it could not confirm an alternative at that point. These are Inoreader’s reports of an announced future change, not confirmation that the cutoff has since occurred or that every feed stopped on that date. Read Inoreader’s October 1 update for its status and any subsequent announcements.

Can an RSS reader follow other community sites?

Often, if the site publishes a feed in a format the reader accepts. But “community site” is not a universal source type: a forum, discussion board, or social platform may offer an RSS feed, require an account connection, provide only partial feeds, or offer no feed at all. The reviewed documentation does not establish that every site or reader is compatible.

Inoreader’s general help describes adding websites and other sources by name or URL, and covers websites, blogs, newsletters, social feeds, and podcasts. That describes supported source categories and an add-source workflow; it does not promise that any particular community platform will work. Inoreader’s update discusses the Reddit-specific issue, while its quick setup guide explains adding sources.

How to choose a reader for community feeds

  1. Check the exact source. Confirm that the reader can follow the particular subreddit, search, forum, or community you care about—not merely that it supports RSS generally.
  2. Check the connection method. Determine whether the source works through a public feed URL or needs an account connection and authorization, as Feedly’s documented Reddit setup does.
  3. Check what you can follow. Look for the specific community and search options you need, and verify whether results are delivered as new posts or through some other feed view.
  4. Verify limits and plan access. Treat update intervals, daily post caps, and plan availability as current only when the provider’s current documentation or interface confirms them. Feedly’s cited Reddit figures are from 2021.
  5. For Reddit, check the cutoff status. Inoreader reported an intended November 13, 2026 cutoff and no confirmed replacement as of October 1, 2026. Check its current announcements and the reader’s behavior rather than assuming a listing means continuing updates.

What the Reddit cutoff means in practice

A reader’s Reddit feature may depend on Reddit continuing to supply RSS data. Inoreader’s October 1, 2026 statement makes clear that existing feeds were contingent on Reddit providing them; it did not promise ongoing service or announce a replacement. The statement also does not establish the present status of Feedly’s integration. If Reddit feeds are essential to your workflow, verify their operation close to the time you rely on them and keep a separate way to access those communities.
