RSA Conference 2024’s final-day news ranged from generative AI security and cloud tools to threat research, funding and workforce initiatives. SecurityWeek’s May 10, 2024 roundup was a selective digest of announcements associated with Day 4, not a complete list of conference releases; it also included some news missed on earlier days.

What was announced on the final day?

RSA Conference 2024 took place May 6–9 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. The announcements below are reported by SecurityWeek; product descriptions, company figures and claimed benefits are not independent evaluations.

AI application security and privacy

  • Aqua Security: Aqua announced a solution intended to secure the development and operation of generative AI applications using large language models. SecurityWeek described capabilities including code integrity, real-time monitoring and generative-AI assurance policies.
  • Inpher: Inpher announced the general availability of SecurAI, which the company described as protecting the privacy and security of user inputs to large language models. SecurityWeek reported that the release uses NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs; that detail does not establish that users need to buy a GPU themselves.

Cloud security, integrations and threat-informed defense

  • CrowdStrike and Google Cloud: CrowdStrike announced Falcon Cloud Security enhancements intended to help analysts visualize connections among cloud assets and prioritize risk. It also announced an expanded strategic partnership with Google Cloud involving Mandiant Incident Response and Managed Detection and Response services using the Falcon platform and Google Cloud Security Operations platform.
  • Censys: Censys announced an Integrations Marketplace. The company’s reported claim, as covered by SecurityWeek, was that security teams could onboard an integration with a marketplace vendor in under 15 minutes; this timing was not independently verified.
  • Tidal Cyber: Tidal Cyber announced customizations and integrations for its Enterprise Edition, which is aimed at threat-informed defense. SecurityWeek characterized the platform as a way to operationalize that approach; the roundup does not provide independent validation of performance or savings.

Framework mapping and threat research

  • Cloud Security Alliance: CSA announced additional mapping and gap analysis between its Cloud Controls Matrix and NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0, intended to identify equivalent controls, gaps and misalignment.
  • Intel 471: Intel 471 published its 2024 Cyber Threat Report. SecurityWeek’s summary of that report said a pro-Russia group accounted for almost 60% of hacktivist attacks in 2023; its dataset included more than 4,400 reported ransomware attacks; infostealers represented 21% of malware-related offerings; and deepfakes were among common ways threat actors used AI. These are figures and findings attributed to Intel 471’s report, not universal estimates of threat prevalence.

Funding and workforce initiatives

  • Nudge Security: Nudge Security announced funding from Forgepoint Capital, bringing its total seed funding to $16.5 million. SecurityWeek also reported the company’s claim that it had acquired more than 100 customers in the 18 months after emerging from stealth in 2022.
  • NightDragon, Cisco, World Wide Technology and NPower: The organizations announced a collaboration intended to increase diversity in cybersecurity and help people from varied backgrounds pursue careers in the field. The effort included hiring NPower candidates and supporting the nonprofit through volunteer engagement.

How to read this announcement roundup

The items cover different kinds of activity, so they are not directly comparable as products. Some are product or feature announcements, while others concern a partnership, framework mapping, research, funding or workforce development. The roundup provides no independent comparative product testing, buying guidance or pricing.
