The Roku Pro Series OLED 65-inch TV (model 65RAD5) pairs OLED’s deep blacks with a 4K, 120Hz panel, HDMI 2.1, and Roku’s built-in streaming platform. Its $1,199.99 launch price positioned it as a more accessible OLED option, but the review-period discounts are historical snapshots—not guaranteed current prices. It is a more convincing fit for darker rooms than bright ones: independent testing praised its contrast while flagging limited brightness and reflections.
Should I buy the Roku Pro Series OLED TV?
Consider it if you want OLED contrast, a 120Hz screen for gaming, and a familiar Roku interface in one 65-inch television, and your room is not dominated by daylight. Be more cautious if you watch in a very bright room, expect standout built-in sound, or want the strongest overall performance available from a premium TV.
TechRadar’s reviewer used the television for a couple of weeks with shows, movies, music, and PS5 games. The review describes it as a competent mid-range TV, but says it is not as impressive overall as top models. That makes the Roku’s appeal less about being the best at everything and more about getting OLED’s black levels with a useful gaming feature set at a relatively accessible listed price.
What are the Roku 65-inch OLED’s key specifications?
The model reviewed here is the standard Pro Series OLED, model 65RAD5—not the separate Pro Series LX. Roku’s US product page lists these features for the 65-inch model:

- HDR support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG.
- HDMI 2.1 inputs, VRR, ALLM, and FreeSync Premium for gaming.
- Roku’s built-in TV platform for streaming and television features.
Do not confuse its 120Hz refresh rate with the Pro Series LX specification: Roku lists the LX as supporting up to 144Hz VRR. That higher figure does not apply to the standard 65RAD5.
How good is its picture in real rooms?
OLED contrast is the clearest strength
OLED pixels can switch off to produce very deep blacks, which helps dark scenes retain contrast and gives films a more cinematic look in a dim room. TechRadar’s review found the Roku’s black levels appealing, so viewers who prioritize dark-room picture quality will get a defining benefit of OLED.

Brightness and reflections are the trade-offs
The same review says the set is less bright than some rivals and that its glossy screen can reflect nearby light. Those limitations matter most in a sunlit living room or when lamps sit opposite the screen. Tom’s Guide’s September 2026 preview estimated HDR brightness at 500 to 700 nits and said the LG C6 and Samsung S90H were brighter. That was an early preview, not a completed full review, so treat its brightness figure as a preview estimate rather than a final test result.

Is the Roku Pro Series OLED good for gaming?
For a standard 4K gaming setup, its 120Hz panel and Roku-listed HDMI 2.1, VRR, ALLM, and FreeSync Premium support make a strong feature combination. These specifications support high-refresh-rate gameplay and variable refresh rate, but they do not make this model a 144Hz TV.
TechRadar’s reviewer found games looked good on the OLED, while judging the television to have few gaming-specific features. The distinction is useful: the listed core connectivity and refresh features are present, but the review does not position it as a gaming-focused set with an unusually broad suite of extras. Players who need 144Hz should look at the separate Pro Series LX or another model that explicitly supports it.

How does its price affect the value?
Roku listed the 65-inch Pro Series OLED at $1,199.99, and TechRadar reported that as its September 2026 launch price. TechRadar also observed a review-period price as low as $799. That lower figure is a historical sale snapshot, not a current offer or a recurring price guarantee; check the live listing before buying.

That is a statement of the company’s intent, not proof that this is the cheapest OLED on the market. The practical value depends on the current price and whether you prize OLED contrast and Roku’s integrated platform more than a brighter screen or stronger overall performance.

How does it compare with alternatives?
TechRadar’s comparison discusses the LG B6, TCL QM7L, and 2025 Roku Pro. The main distinction is display approach: the Roku and LG options are OLED models, while the TCL QM7L is a Mini-LED alternative. TechRadar describes the LG B6 as brighter and somewhat stronger in color coverage, and the TCL QM7L as much brighter with better color coverage. It describes the Roku OLED as offering OLED black levels and more HDMI 2.1 ports. These are qualitative findings from that review’s comparison; prices in it are snapshots, not stable current quotes.
| Option | What the cited comparison says | What to weigh |
|---|---|---|
| Roku Pro Series OLED 65-inch (65RAD5) | OLED black levels; more HDMI 2.1 ports than the compared alternatives, according to TechRadar. | 120Hz rather than the LX’s 144Hz; review notes lower brightness and reflections as concerns. |
| LG B6 | TechRadar describes it as brighter and somewhat stronger in color coverage. | Compare current pricing and the full feature set for your gaming and streaming setup. |
| TCL QM7L | TechRadar describes it as much brighter with better color coverage; it uses Mini-LED rather than OLED. | Consider brightness and color coverage against OLED black levels. |
| 2025 Roku Pro | Included in TechRadar’s comparison; the cited comparison does not establish a complete specification or price here. | Check the current model specifications and price directly before treating it as a like-for-like alternative. |
Is the built-in sound enough?
TechRadar describes the built-in audio as limited in scale and depth. It may suit everyday viewing, but viewers who want fuller bass and a larger sound for films may prefer an external audio system. No particular soundbar is necessary to make the TV usable; this is a matter of how much impact you expect from movie sound.
