Rogers announced WiFi 7 for Quebec 5G Home Internet customers in July 2025, but availability depends on the service and your address. Rogers’ materials do not establish a province-wide WiFi 7 launch for Ontario. Check your address and current plan options before assuming you can get the gateway.
Is Rogers WiFi 7 available in Quebec and Ontario?
Rogers announced on July 30, 2025, that it was expanding WiFi 7 to customers in Quebec subscribed to Rogers 5G Home Internet. That announcement concerns the 5G Home Internet service; it does not establish availability for every Quebec household or for all fixed-line Xfinity Internet customers. Rogers’ Quebec announcement
For Ontario, the reviewed Rogers announcements do not provide a province-specific WiFi 7 launch date or coverage list. Rogers’ current support information says its Xfinity Router with WiFi 7 is available with Xfinity Internet plans and bundles in some areas, with broader rollout planned. Rogers’ rollout began with a June 30, 2025 announcement of deployment in select Calgary areas. The company said at the time that Xfinity would begin supporting WiFi 7 elsewhere in Canada that year; that forward-looking statement is not confirmation that service launched in every planned area on schedule. - When reviewing eligible offers, distinguish Rogers Xfinity Internet from Rogers 5G Home Internet. The WiFi 7 references apply to different service contexts, and an offer for one is not proof of eligibility for the other.
- Confirm the equipment included, the current plan terms, and any add-on requirements directly with Rogers for your address. The available plans, prices, speeds, and equipment are not established as a single province-wide offer.

Do you need a WiFi 7 phone or laptop?
A WiFi 7-capable client device is needed to receive the direct benefits of WiFi 7. Older devices can still connect to Rogers’ Xfinity Router: Rogers says it is backward compatible with WiFi 6 and WiFi 6E devices. Can you use your own WiFi 7 router with Rogers?
Rogers says its Xfinity Router works only with the Rogers modem provided.
