Rockstar realizó trabajo de campo en Florida para Grand Theft Auto VI, según comentarios de Rupert Humphries, vicepresidente sénior de narrativa del estudio, recogidos por GamesRadar a partir de una entrevista de Game Informer. Humphries describió recorridos nocturnos con expolicías y visitas a clubes de striptease y discotecas, además de tiempo en playas, los Everglades y los Cayos. GamesRadar atribuye los comentarios a Rupert Humphries, vicepresidente sénior de narrativa de Rockstar, en una entrevista de Game Informer. ¿Rockstar dejó de lado Google Maps?
No hay base en el informe citado para afirmar que Rockstar no usó Google Maps, que sí lo usó o que lo consideró insuficiente. La evidencia respalda que el equipo hizo visitas y recorridos en persona; no permite establecer qué herramientas digitales empleó para documentarse.

Por eso, la conclusión precisa es que la investigación presencial formó parte del trabajo descrito por Humphries, no que sustituyera a los mapas digitales. Tampoco se puede asegurar qué detalles de esas salidas aparecerán en el juego.
Qué se sabe —y qué no— sobre el lanzamiento
En una cobertura distinta, GamesRadar informó que Rockstar prevé publicar GTA VI el 19 de noviembre de 2026 y citó al responsable de desarrollo y codirector del estudio, Aaron Garbut, sobre la escala y el nivel de detalle de la producción. Esa fecha procede de un informe secundario y no queda verificada aquí mediante una página oficial del editor. La cobertura consultada tampoco establece plataformas, formatos físicos ni ediciones comerciales. GamesRadar recoge los comentarios de Garbut y la fecha comunicada.
