Robin Singh, Team Director of Royal Desert Champions, says the franchise is entering the Abu Dhabi T10 with the ambition of building a legacy that lasts. The statement accompanied the team’s announced entry in the 2026 competition, which a report published by The Tribune on October 1, 2026, said was scheduled for November 7–20.

“Royal Desert Champions are here to kickstart a legacy that will last a very long time in the Abu Dhabi T10,” Singh said, according to The Tribune’s ANI-syndicated report, updated October 1, 2026.
Singh also described the franchise’s recruitment approach, saying that after pre-signing Nicholas Pooran, Phil Salt and Sherfane Rutherford, the team wanted to pursue top bowling talent. He said it had secured three bowlers with strong shorter-format pedigrees, whom he expected to be important to the campaign.
Royal Desert Champions’ reported Abu Dhabi T10 2026 plans
The report said the franchise’s first Abu Dhabi T10 campaign was scheduled for November 7 through November 20, 2026, and named Pooran as captain. It attributed the dates to a team press release. Squad named in the announcement
The reported squad is Nicholas Pooran (captain), Phil Salt, Sherfane Rutherford, Ali Naseer, Aayan Afzal Khan, Muhammad Waseem, Naseem Shah, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Luke Wood, Gulbaddin Naib, Brandon King, Janith Liyanage, Keemo Paul, Dhruv Parashar, Rizal Nadir, Tajinder Singh Dhillon and Chris Jordan.
The announcement presented the squad as a mix of established international players and UAE talent. It did not provide player statistics or role-by-role analysis, so the roster alone does not establish how the team will line up or perform.

The identity the franchise says it wants to project
Owner Amit Narang framed the team’s intended identity around playing under pressure: “Royal Desert Champions is built on the belief that champions are revealed when conditions are toughest.
