Yes—if you’re installing a conventional Windows desktop program and want a saved record to help with a later uninstall. Revo Uninstaller Pro’s Real-Time Installation Monitor records system changes during installation in a trace log. The extra step is worthwhile when that log is useful to you, but Revo says the feature cannot trace Microsoft Store app installations, and its documentation does not establish that it is better than every alternative.
What Revo’s installation tracking does
Revo’s Real-Time Installation Monitor watches for system changes while a program is being installed and records them in a trace log. Revo describes this as a way to support a more thorough removal later. That is different from simply keeping an inventory of programs already installed on the PC. How to make a trace log
- Start the installation through Revo’s tracing workflow: right-click the setup file and choose its Revo context-menu option, or use Revo’s “Install Program with Revo Uninstaller Pro” command.
- Complete the program’s installation while Revo monitors changes. For a cleaner trace, monitor one installation at a time and avoid starting other programs during the capture.
- Stop monitoring and save the trace log when installation is complete. If the installer does not open the new program, Revo recommends launching it once so it can create configuration data that may be captured.
These steps follow Revo’s guide to tracing a program. Revo’s manual says the monitor records system changes in real time; that is the vendor’s description of its feature, not an independent performance test.

Use it for a new desktop installation you may want to remove thoroughly
The strongest case is a conventional desktop program whose installer you can launch through Revo. You add a small amount of setup effort at installation time in exchange for a log intended to help during a later removal.

Skip it for Microsoft Store apps
Revo’s tracing guide says its tracing module cannot trace Microsoft Store app installations. Do not assume the same workflow will capture those installs.
Check the version when using an existing log
Revo’s Traced Programs module covers logs created locally, while its Logs Database contains logs maintained by Revo’s team. If the program is already installed, a database log may be available, but compatibility with a different program version is not assured. Revo’s FAQ says usefulness depends on how much the program changed; logs for similar versions may work, but that is not a universal guarantee. So, is Revo Pro still better for tracking installs?
It remains a useful, conditional choice for recording new standard desktop installations when you want a trace log for later removal. The available documentation supports that use case and explains its limits; it does not provide independent head-to-head evidence that Revo is universally better than other tools. If your installs are mostly from the Microsoft Store, or you do not need installation-time logs, the extra monitoring step may not suit your workflow.
