The Revlon One Step Power Move is a lightweight handheld hair dryer with a digital brushless motor, four attachments and useful heat and speed controls. In Expert Reviews’ hands-on test, it dried the reviewer’s thick hair in around seven minutes, but that result is specific to one person and test routine. The main compromises: its attachments clip on rather than connect magnetically, and the highest heat felt uncomfortably hot to the reviewer’s scalp.
What the Power Move is—and what it isn’t
The Power Move is a conventional handheld dryer with clip-on styling attachments. It is not Revlon’s oval hot-air One-Step Volumizer or brush products. That distinction matters when checking product listings: the Amazon UK RVDR5222 page is for a volumizer brush, not the Power Move dryer (Amazon UK RVDR5222 listing).
Expert Reviews’ Sarah Matthews published her review on 1 October 2026. She says she has tested hair dryers for four years and used the Power Move over multiple hair washes, trying every attachment and different drying and styling approaches. Her testing included rough drying, round-brush blow drying, and measurements of noise, weight and wind speed. The specifications and results below are reported by that reviewer, not independently verified manufacturer data.

These specifications are as reported by Expert Reviews. The 110,000 RPM figure and 1600W rating describe the motor; by themselves, they do not prove that the dryer is faster or gentler than another model. Establishing that would require comparable testing across dryers.

Attachments for drying and styling
The concentrator directs airflow for more focused drying, while the diffuser is intended for diffused airflow. The root-lift comb offers another styling option. The Smooth & Shine Finisher has a curved ceramic surface; the reviewer says it uses the Coanda effect to tame flyaways and add shine.
Matthews found that the attachments clipped on securely, but they are not magnetic. Swapping them can be harder than with magnetic attachments, particularly for someone with limited hand strength.

How it performed in the review
Matthews measured top-speed airflow at 20.3m/s and reported that her thick hair took around seven minutes to dry. She also measured noise at 84dB on the lowest speeds and 89dB on the highest. Those figures describe one reviewer’s measurements and setup; they are not standardized laboratory results or a guarantee of what another person will experience.
The reviewer also found the smoothing finisher helpful for flyaways. Her positive account of drying speed and smoothing is useful as a real-world observation, but it is not a controlled head-to-head comparison with more expensive dryers.

Heat and handling: the main things to consider
Use the heat setting that feels comfortable
Matthews found the highest heat very hot on her scalp and recommended using the middle heat setting. That is her personal experience and advice, not evidence that the dryer causes hair damage or that a particular setting is medically safer. The four heat settings and three speeds give you options to adjust the airflow and temperature to your comfort.
Light to hold, less convenient to change attachments
The reported weight is 294g without the cable and 483g with it, and the dryer comes with a 2.5m cable. The reviewer praised its light, compact form. In contrast, the clip-on attachment design may be less convenient if you frequently switch tools or find small, firm fittings difficult to handle.

Is it an affordable alternative to a more expensive digital-motor dryer?
Matthews called it the most affordable hair dryer she had tested that packs in a digital brushless motor, citing a reviewed price of £65. That is her assessment based on her testing and market experience—not a statistical claim about every dryer for sale.

To judge value against a particular dryer, compare the same practical factors: current local price, independently measured airflow and drying time, weight and balance, heat and speed controls, attachment range and connection method, noise, and the styling tasks you actually perform. Motor type and stated RPM are relevant specifications, but not substitutes for comparable performance testing.
