Choose the Retroid Pocket Nova if your gaming library is mainly classic titles designed for a 4:3 screen. Choose the Pocket 6 if you also play widescreen games or Android titles and want a larger display. Both are reported to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-class silicon, so the clearest distinction is the screen—not a verified speed advantage.
Which Retroid fits your game library?
Choose the Nova for a 4:3-focused collection
The Nova’s reported 4.5-inch, 4:3 display is a natural match for many older games designed around that shape. It can show those games without the wide side bars that appear when 4:3 content is fitted into a 16:9 screen, though the result depends on each game and its display settings. At a reported 255 g, it is also the lighter of the two on paper; that does not establish which device feels more comfortable over a long session.
Choose the Pocket 6 for widescreen games and a larger panel
The Pocket 6 has a reported 5.5-inch, 16:9 display, making it the more natural fit for widescreen content and a larger physical viewing area. It is the more flexible screen shape if your play includes both classic games and modern Android titles. Classic games can still run on it, but 4:3 games will not use the full width unless you stretch the image, which changes its proportions.

Is one faster or longer-lasting?
The Nova’s QCS8550 is described as Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-class, while the Pocket 6 is listed with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The available specifications do not establish a meaningful real-world performance winner: no independent benchmark comparison or sustained-performance test is available here. Game compatibility and performance can also vary by emulator, settings and title, so neither device should be treated as guaranteed to run every game flawlessly.
The Pocket 6’s listed 6,000 mAh capacity is larger than the Nova’s 5,000 mAh capacity, but capacity alone does not show how long either handheld lasts in actual play. No measured comparative runtime is established, so choose between them on display format and other listed features rather than an assumed battery-life advantage.

How should you make the final choice?
- Mostly classic 4:3 games: favor the Nova’s 4:3 screen.
- Widescreen games or modern Android play: favor the Pocket 6’s larger 16:9 screen.
- Still undecided: decide which screen shape you would rather use most often. The listed chipsets are in a similar performance class, and the available evidence does not support choosing on benchmark speed.
