Relyance AI announced a $32.1 million Series B on October 10, 2024, led by Thomvest Ventures, with M12, Microsoft Ventures Fund, Cheyenne Ventures, Menlo Ventures and Unusual Ventures also participating. The company said it would use the funding to further develop its platform and scale go-to-market efforts.

Who invested in Relyance AI’s Series B?

Thomvest Ventures led the round. M12, also known as Microsoft Ventures Fund, Cheyenne Ventures, and existing investors Menlo Ventures and Unusual Ventures participated. The $32.1 million figure comes from Relyance AI’s October 10, 2024 announcement; TechCrunch also reported the financing and investor group.

The funding announcement did not disclose a company valuation. The $32.1 million is the announced Series B amount, rather than a valuation or a claim about Relyance AI’s total funding.

What does Relyance AI’s data governance platform do?

In its 2024 release, Relyance described a platform intended to provide visibility into enterprise data processing and compare observed activity with contractual commitments, global privacy regulations and compliance frameworks. CEO and co-founder Abhi Sharma said the company planned to expand the product into data security posture management (DSPM) and AI governance with the Series B.

Sharma described the approach as starting with code, infrastructure and data processing to compare how an organization operates with its obligations. These are the company’s descriptions of its product and roadmap, not an independent assessment of its capabilities.

What did Relyance say the funding would support?

The company said proceeds would go toward further platform development and scaling go-to-market efforts. That is the stated use of funds; the announcement did not provide a breakdown by spending category.

Relyance also reported that its enterprise customer base grew 30% in the first half of 2024 and projected that annual recurring revenue (ARR) would double during 2024. The customer-growth figure and ARR outlook were company-reported; the doubling was a projection in the 2024 announcement, not a verified result.

How did the product messaging evolve after the 2024 funding?

Relyance’s later announcements use additional product language that should be kept distinct from the Series B description. On April 21, 2025, the company introduced Data Journeys, emphasizing context-aware visibility into enterprise data flows. Its press index lists a March 23, 2026 announcement of Lyo commercial availability. These later updates provide context for the company’s subsequent product positioning; they do not change what Relyance said the Series B would support in October 2024.

For an enterprise evaluating data governance, this funding announcement alone does not establish how Relyance compares with competitors, which environments or integrations it covers, or independently measured customer outcomes.
