The REDMI Turbo 5 is the stronger fit on listed processor, battery capacity, charging speed and Xiaomi India’s starting price. The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G offers a larger 144Hz display and TECNO-promoted gaming features. In India price snapshots accessed in 2026, Xiaomi lists the Redmi from ₹41,999, while 91mobiles reports the TECNO at ₹49,999 on Flipkart—an apparent ₹8,000 gap that may not compare equivalent variants or seller terms.

Which is better: Redmi Turbo 5 or POVA 8 Pro?
For buyers prioritizing the listed processor, battery size and charging rate, the REDMI Turbo 5 has the edge on paper. Xiaomi lists the Dimensity 8500 Ultra at up to 3.4GHz, compared with TECNO’s Dimensity 7400 Ultimate at up to 2.6GHz. 91mobiles’ comparison also reports higher AnTuTu and PC Mark figures for the Redmi, but it does not establish test conditions in the material available. Those results are snapshots, not a promise of everyday speed or battery life.

The POVA 8 Pro 5G is the more screen-focused option: its panel is larger and has a higher listed refresh-rate ceiling. TECNO also promotes a dedicated P1 graphics chip. Those specifications and manufacturer claims do not substitute for matched, independent gameplay testing, so they cannot establish which phone sustains better frame rates or stays cooler during long sessions.

Which phone has the bigger screen and higher refresh rate?
The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G has the larger screen at 6.78 inches and lists a 144Hz refresh rate. The REDMI Turbo 5 has a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 120Hz rate. A larger panel may suit gaming or video, while a smaller one may be easier to handle; the specifications do not establish display brightness, color accuracy, or image quality.
Which has the bigger battery and faster charging?
Xiaomi lists a 7540mAh battery and 100W charging for the REDMI Turbo 5, versus TECNO’s 6500mAh battery and 45W charging for the POVA 8 Pro 5G. Xiaomi also lists 27W wired reverse charging. Capacity and charging wattage alone do not determine actual battery endurance or time to full charge; usage, software, temperature, and charging conditions matter.

Are the cameras meaningfully different?
Both phones list a 50MP rear main camera with optical image stabilization and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Xiaomi identifies the Redmi’s main sensor as a Sony IMX882. The Redmi’s listed 20MP front camera has a higher resolution than TECNO’s 13MP front camera, but megapixel counts do not prove which phone takes better photos or selfies. Sensor, lens, image processing, and direct testing all affect results, and no head-to-head camera test is established here.
What is the price difference in India?
| Phone | India price snapshot accessed in 2026 | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| REDMI Turbo 5 | From ₹41,999 | Xiaomi India store; starting price, with 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB options listed |
| TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G | ₹49,999 | 91mobiles reports a Flipkart price; it is not an official TECNO price |
Those snapshots imply the TECNO costs ₹8,000 more than the Redmi’s listed starting price. That is not necessarily a like-for-like comparison: seller conditions, offers, and storage configurations may differ, and prices can change. Check current listings for the same country, seller type, and equivalent storage before deciding. These India figures should not be applied to other markets.

What to know about gaming and benchmarks
TECNO’s product page says a PUBG MOBILE 144FPS (Ultra Extreme) option was expected to become available through a future major game update by October 2026, with actual timing and availability dependent on the official game update. It should not be treated as guaranteed or universally available. See TECNO’s product-page qualification and check the game’s current device and regional support.
Benchmark figures for the POVA 8 Pro 5G conflict across sources. TECNO’s page reports an AnTuTu score of 1,010,744, while 91mobiles reports 792,798; 91mobiles reports 2,135,669 for the REDMI Turbo 5. The different POVA results should not be collapsed into one definitive score, and no independent head-to-head test conditions are established. Treat these as source-published figures rather than predictions of performance.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the REDMI Turbo 5 if its listed processor, larger battery, higher charging rate, Xiaomi’s published update commitment, or lower official India starting price matter most.
- Consider the POVA 8 Pro 5G if you prefer a larger 144Hz display or want to evaluate TECNO’s gaming features, while verifying game support and current local pricing.
- Compare carefully if camera quality or long-term support is decisive: camera specifications alone do not establish image quality, and the TECNO update durations cited here come from a third-party comparison rather than confirmation on its official product page.
