The Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G is a strong choice under Rs 40,000 if long battery life matters more to you than fast charging or top-tier performance. In 91mobiles’ review, its test unit lasted 21 hours and 55 minutes in PCMark, measured from 100% down to 20%—the longest result among the three phones compared. The trade-offs are a heavy build, 67W charging, and secondary cameras the reviewer found average.
How long does the Redmi Note 17 Pro battery last?
91mobiles’ review unit recorded 21 hours and 55 minutes in the publication’s PCMark battery test, which ran from a full charge down to 20%. That is a strong result in the review’s comparison, but it is not a prediction of how long every owner will get: screen settings, signal strength, apps, and usage all affect runtime. In a separate 60-minute YouTube streaming test, the phone’s battery dropped by 4%.
| Phone | PCMark result reported by 91mobiles (2026) |
|---|---|
| Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G | 21 hours 55 minutes, measured from 100% to 20% |
| POCO X8 Power | 20 hours 45 minutes; the review reports this comparison result, but does not establish an identical test method in the supplied figures |
| Vivo T5 | 14 hours 42 minutes; the review reports this comparison result, but does not establish an identical test method in the supplied figures |
The review calls the result “class-leading battery life,” a verdict by reviewer Sanket Vijayasarathy rather than an independently verified ranking across every phone under Rs 40,000. Its headline and comparisons support a narrower conclusion: the Redmi delivered the strongest PCMark result among the phones included in that review.
How fast does it charge?
The phone is reported to have a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and 67W wired charging. 91mobiles measured 96 minutes for its review unit to charge from 20% to 100%. The POCO X8 Power, with 100W charging, took 79 minutes for a similar top-up in the review. Neither phone offers wireless charging, according to 91mobiles.

That makes charging a real compromise rather than a reason to dismiss the phone outright: its review-unit endurance result was especially strong, but a shorter plug-in window favors the POCO. Actual charging time can vary with conditions and charger use; the cited figure is the review’s measurement.
Is the display and build good for everyday use?
91mobiles lists a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with up to a 120Hz refresh rate and a claimed peak brightness of 3,500 nits. The combination is appealing for a large, vivid screen and outdoor visibility, though peak brightness is a specification claim, not a guarantee of sustained brightness in every scene. The Vivo T5 offers a 144Hz display, so buyers who value the highest refresh rate should compare it directly.

The review reports IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, alongside a 226g weight. Those durability ratings are a notable part of the package, but the weight is worth considering if you prefer a lighter phone or use one-handed often. Treat the IP ratings as the review’s reported specifications, not as advice to expose the device to water or pressure.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G uses a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. 91mobiles reported an AnTuTu score of 949,300 and 67.3% retained output in its prolonged-load burnout test, with a 31% CPU throttle result. These are results from that review, not a complete measure of day-to-day responsiveness or every game.

The review’s gaming frame-rate capture did not run cleanly, so it does not establish average FPS for BGMI or Call of Duty. For that reason, do not read its battery result as evidence that the Redmi is a gaming-performance leader. 91mobiles names the POCO X8 Power, Vivo T5, and iQOO Z11 as better choices for raw performance.
How good are the cameras and software support?
The camera setup reported by 91mobiles comprises a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide on the back, plus a 16MP front camera. The reviewer describes daylight output as decent, with weaker low-light and secondary-camera results. If ultrawide versatility or low-light photography is central to your purchase, those weaknesses matter more than the headline battery result.

The phone makes the most sense for buyers who prioritize endurance, a large bright AMOLED screen, durability ratings, and the software support terms reported by the review. It is less compelling if you want quicker charging, lighter weight, stronger secondary cameras, or the best peak performance in this comparison.
- Consider it if you want the longest PCMark result among the phones in 91mobiles’ comparison and can accept the charging and weight trade-offs.
- Compare the POCO X8 Power, Vivo T5, or iQOO Z11 if peak performance is your priority; the POCO also charged faster in the review’s similar top-up test.
- Keep a Redmi Note 15 Pro if you already own one and are considering an upgrade: 91mobiles advises those owners to skip it. Older Redmi Note owners may find the battery-life improvement more persuasive, especially if endurance is their main concern.
