On published specifications, the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G has the more detailed official sheet, a larger battery and a much higher-resolution main camera. But at the prices we checked on 7 October 2026, neither phone sits at ₹30,000. The real choice is whether to stretch by about ₹2,000 for either model, or wait for a discount. The Motorola Edge 70 also needs its Indian model confirmed before you buy it. We have not tested either phone. Everything below comes from manufacturer pages and retailer snapshots dated 7 October 2026.
Neither phone is at ₹30,000 right now
Xiaomi India’s catalogue listed the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G at ₹31,999, and the model was marked out of stock when checked. That is ₹1,999 above your budget.
A Gadgets 360 product page dated 7 October 2026 listed Motorola Edge 70 colour variants with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage at ₹31,945 to ₹32,999. The same page reported ₹31,945 at Amazon that day. The cheapest Motorola price is ₹1,945 above ₹30,000.

These are single-day snapshots. They show where prices stood, not where they will stand when you read this. If your budget is strict, neither phone qualifies at these prices. If you can stretch slightly, the Motorola’s lowest listed price is the closer of the two, and Xiaomi’s listing was not available to buy at the time of checking.

Confirm the Motorola model before you buy
The Motorola Edge 70 is identified on Motorola Support India, which gives a hardware overview. That page does not give a full India specification or variant sheet. The Gadgets 360 page also contradicts itself: it lists Indian prices but marks the phone “Launched in India: No.” Until a Motorola India page or an established retailer shows the model clearly, treat its Indian availability as unconfirmed.
Check these before you pay:
- The exact model number on the retailer listing, and whether it is sold as an India model.
- Whether the seller gives a manufacturer warranty for India and a local invoice.
- The RAM and storage combination, which should match the 8GB/256GB variant you are comparing.
- The carbon footprint report refers to model series XT2601. Ask the seller whether the model you are buying falls under that series.
What each phone officially claims
The table shows what each manufacturer’s published material states. Where a value is missing from the sources we checked, the cell says so rather than filling it in.

The Redmi figures are Xiaomi’s own published specifications. They are not independent measurements. The gaps in the Motorola column are gaps in the sources we could access, not confirmed absences.

How to compare the things that matter
Size and handling
You cannot compare handling on the Motorola side yet. Without an Indian dimension and weight figure, a claim that the Edge 70 is slimmer or lighter than the Redmi cannot be checked. Hold both phones in a shop, if you can, and check the camera bump and whether a case you already own fits.

Display
Xiaomi’s 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 120Hz ceiling is a clear published specification. For the Motorola, you need its diagonal, resolution and refresh rate from a verified Indian source. Outdoor brightness is the figure most likely to differ between two phones, and only measured tests can settle it.
Camera
A 200MP main sensor does not guarantee better photos. Pixel count is one input among several, including sensor size, processing, stabilisation and lens quality. Redmi’s sheet lists OIS on the main camera. The Motorola’s rear camera setup is described in general terms, so the two phones cannot be compared on focal length, stabilisation or low-light behaviour yet. Look for side-by-side sample photos from named independent reviews, and check the video specifications on both before choosing.

Battery and charging
The Redmi’s 6,580mAh battery and 45W charging are official figures, not measured runtimes. Motorola’s India page confirms a wireless charging area but does not give a battery capacity or charging wattage. Do not assume the Motorola lasts longer or charges faster without a verified capacity and a tested runtime from an independent review.

Neither phone’s IP rating, glass protection or warranty terms appear in the sources we checked. These matter more for a phone you will keep for years than most spec differences, so ask the seller for the exact warranty terms and check the manufacturer’s update commitment for the specific model before deciding.

Motorola’s carbon footprint figure
Motorola Mobility’s India product carbon footprint report, issued 1 November 2025 for model series XT2601, estimates 46.42 kg CO2e for the Edge 70. The report states that the result should not be used to compare products or manufacturers, so it does not tell you whether the Edge 70 is greener than the Redmi.
The estimate assumes a phone weight of 160g, a 6.7-inch screen, a three-year use period, 5.0 kWh per year of energy use, and use in Argentina. The Argentina assumption means the figure does not describe electricity use in India.

- Choose the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G if you care most about the published battery capacity, the high-resolution main camera and the fast-charging specification, and you can buy it at or near its list price. Read at least one independent review that measures battery life and camera output before buying.
- Choose the Motorola Edge 70 if you specifically want Motorola’s slim-phone positioning, and you have confirmed an Indian model, a warranty and a price you are happy to pay. Verify the thickness and weight against a measured figure, since the sources we checked do not give one for India.
- If ₹30,000 is a hard limit, neither phone qualifies at the prices checked on 7 October 2026. Wait for a discount or check current prices again before deciding.
Checks before you buy
- Confirm the exact variant, storage size and colour on the seller’s page.
- Check the price and stock on the day of purchase, because both listings were volatile at the time of checking.
- Ask for the manufacturer warranty terms and an India invoice.
- Read at least one independent review with measured battery, camera and display results.
