The Redmi Note 14S is a real Redmi phone, but it is not a 5G upgrade in the regular Redmi Note 14 generation. Launched in select European markets on March 14, 2025, it is a 4G-only model with a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, MediaTek Helio G99-Ultra processor, 200MP camera with optical image stabilization, 5,000mAh battery, and 67W wired charging.

Its more important identity is less obvious: the Note 14S appears to be a regional rebrand or lightly redesigned version of the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G. That is a well-supported hardware comparison, not an official Xiaomi admission. In practical terms, it is a camera-and-charging-focused budget phone rather than a major new-generation performance phone.

In 2026, buy it only when the local, officially supported version is priced well below newer 5G alternatives. If you need 5G, long-term software certainty, demanding gaming performance, or guaranteed U.S. carrier support, choose a newer model instead.

What is the Redmi Note 14S?

Redmi is Xiaomi’s smartphone brand, and the Note 14S is a standalone Redmi-branded device rather than a software name or carrier edition. It debuted on March 14, 2025, with initial coverage focused on Czechia, Ukraine, and other select European markets. Xiaomi also maintains global and regional product pages, but a global webpage does not mean that the phone is sold through official retail channels in every country.

The "S" suffix should not be interpreted as a faster 5G version of the standard Redmi Note 14. The Note 14S uses a 4G-only Helio G99-Ultra platform and is better understood as a separate regional model positioned around its AMOLED display, 200MP main camera, and fast charging.

Its relationship with the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G is the defining fact. Both devices are documented with the Helio G99-Ultra, 200MP main camera, 6.67-inch AMOLED display, 5,000mAh battery, 67W charging, and expandable storage. The Note 14S has a different exterior and camera-island design, but Xiaomi does not document a major generational performance change. Notebookcheck and other coverage describe the relationship as a recycled or reworked Note 13 model. The more precise comparison is with the Note 13 Pro 4G, not the less powerful base Redmi Note 13 4G.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That distinction matters because the base Redmi Note 13 has a 108MP camera and 33W charging in Xiaomi’s official specifications, while the Note 13 Pro has the same headline camera and charging hardware as the Note 14S. Describing the Note 14S simply as a Redmi Note 13 4G rebrand is imprecise.

Full Redmi Note 14S specifications

4G only: there is no Redmi Note 14S 5G

The Redmi Note 14S supports 4G LTE but not 5G. Xiaomi’s FAQ explicitly says that 5G network mode is unsupported, and the official specification sheet lists LTE bands without a 5G band section.

This is not a minor technical omission. A buyer in an area rapidly expanding 5G coverage will get no 5G service from this model, even with a 5G plan. The phone can still provide adequate 4G performance for calls, messaging, streaming, navigation, and ordinary browsing, but it should not be confused with the Redmi Note 14 5G.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Listings that append "5G" to the Note 14S name should be treated as a warning sign. Check the exact model number, 2502FRA65G, the seller’s photographs, the regional product page, and the return policy before paying.

Display: one of the phone’s strongest features

The 6.67-inch AMOLED display is a strong fit for this price category. Its 2400×1080 resolution provides a sharp enough image for reading and video, while the 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling and compatible animations feel smoother than on a conventional 60Hz panel.

Xiaomi also lists 10-bit color, DCI-P3 wide-gamut coverage, Gorilla Glass 5, and several TÜV Rheinland certifications, including Low Blue Light, Circadian Friendly, and Flicker Free certifications. The in-display fingerprint reader is another feature more commonly associated with higher-priced phones than basic LCD budget models.

Brightness needs a qualification. Xiaomi’s product marketing page advertises 1,300 nits peak brightness, while the company’s FAQ lists 1,000 nits maximum brightness. These figures may reflect different test conditions, but Xiaomi does not explain the discrepancy on the pages reviewed. Neither should be treated as an independent laboratory measurement.

Camera: promising main hardware, limited video

What the 200MP camera offers

The main camera combines a 200MP sensor claim with optical image stabilization, electronic stabilization, an f/1.65 aperture, and a stated 1/1.4-inch sensor size. That is substantially more camera hardware than many entry-level phones offer, and OIS can help reduce blur from hand movement in still photos and improve the stability of ordinary video.

However, megapixel count and stabilization hardware do not prove overall image quality. The available specifications do not establish how the phone handles dynamic range, night scenes, skin tones, autofocus, motion, or color processing. Those areas require hands-on testing. It would be misleading to call the camera flagship-level based only on Xiaomi’s marketing language.

Ultra-wide, macro, and zoom limitations

The 8MP ultra-wide camera is useful for fitting more of a scene into the frame, but its lower resolution means it should not be expected to match the main camera. The macro camera is listed as 2MP on Xiaomi’s main specifications page, although one line in Xiaomi’s FAQ says 3MP. The main specification page is the more consistent reference, but buyers should be aware of the conflict.

Xiaomi advertises up to 4× "optical-grade lossless zoom." The phone does not have a separate telephoto lens, so this should be understood as computational or crop-based output from the high-resolution main camera, not true optical zoom. It may produce useful results at moderate magnification in good light, but it is not equivalent to the optical zoom camera on a more advanced phone.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Video is a clear compromise

The official rear-camera specification tops out at 1080p recording at 60fps. There is no listed 4K mode. Buyers who record a lot of video, want to crop footage, or expect modern mid-range video capabilities should consider a newer device.

Performance and gaming

The Helio G99-Ultra is an older 4G budget chipset built on a 6nm process. Its two Cortex-A76 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores run at up to 2.2GHz, with an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

That hardware is appropriate for messaging, web browsing, streaming, navigation, office apps, social media, photography, and ordinary multitasking. The 8GB and 12GB RAM options can also help keep more apps available in memory, although the larger configuration does not turn the phone into a faster-class device.

Xiaomi advertises an AnTuTu result above 450,000. This is a manufacturer internal-lab claim, not a universal independent benchmark. Results vary with AnTuTu version, temperature, firmware, storage configuration, battery level, and test conditions. It should not be compared directly with a current Snapdragon or Dimensity score unless the benchmark versions and conditions match.

The Note 14S is not a sensible choice for heavy gaming. Less demanding games should be playable with sensible settings, but sustained performance, graphics quality, heat, and frame rates require independent testing. The lack of 5G also confirms that this is an everyday-use and value phone, not a performance-focused model.

Battery life and 67W charging

The 5,000mAh battery is conventional for a modern budget phone, while 67W wired charging is a meaningful advantage. Xiaomi claims an 18-minute charge to 50% and 44 minutes to 100% in internal testing. The company also quotes up to 19 hours of video playback, 124 hours of music, and 50 hours of voice calls.

Those endurance and charging figures are manufacturer laboratory claims, not independent test results. Actual results depend on screen brightness, mobile signal, refresh-rate settings, temperature, background apps, charger compatibility, and software. The practical conclusion is still straightforward: the phone should be convenient for quick top-ups, but its battery capacity is not unusually large by 2026 standards.

Wireless charging is not supported. Also check the box contents before buying. Xiaomi’s regional specifications indicate that a 67W charger is included in some markets, while the generic FAQ package list omits the adapter and Xiaomi warns that package contents vary. An imported phone may therefore require a separate compatible charger or plug adapter.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Design, audio, and everyday hardware

At approximately 179g and 7.98mm thick, the Note 14S is relatively light for a phone with a 5,000mAh battery. It is sold in Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, and Aurora Purple. The flat AMOLED front, stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos support, and 3.5mm headphone jack make it practical for media use.

The infrared blaster can control compatible televisions and appliances, while NFC may support contactless functions in markets where the feature is enabled. Do not assume that NFC-based payments will work on every imported unit: Xiaomi specifically warns that NFC functionality varies by region.

IP64 is useful protection against dust and splashing, but it is not waterproofing. It does not make the phone safe for submersion, swimming pools, seawater, heavy rain, or charging while wet. Xiaomi also notes that protection can deteriorate through wear, damage, or repair, and liquid damage may be excluded from warranty coverage.

Software and update support

Xiaomi’s FAQ identifies HyperOS 1.0 as the launch software. It does not clearly identify the underlying Android version on the page reviewed, so claims that every regional unit launched with a particular Android version should be checked against the exact firmware installed on the phone.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Redmi Note 14S was included in Xiaomi’s published HyperOS 3 rollout schedule for the December 2025 through March 2026 group. As of August 9, 2026, that schedule is historical rather than a promise that every region updated simultaneously. Xiaomi describes the rollout as a soft release and warns that timing and features can vary by device version and region.

Xiaomi’s general support policy says smartphone security updates are typically maintained for at least two years after first shipment, with some models receiving three years or longer. The reviewed official material does not provide a dedicated Redmi Note 14S end-of-support date or a clearly stated model-specific Android-upgrade guarantee.

On a purchased phone, check the actual software status at Settings → About phone → Xiaomi HyperOS → Check for updates. This is more reliable than assuming that a similarly named Redmi model has the same support schedule.

Area What the comparison means
Processor Both are associated with the Helio G99-Ultra, so do not expect a major performance upgrade from the Note 14S.
Main camera Both use the headline 200MP main-camera and OIS combination.
Display Both are documented around a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a high refresh rate.
Battery and charging Both are associated with a 5,000mAh battery and 67W wired charging.
Expansion Both support expandable storage in the relevant regional configurations.
Exterior The Note 14S uses a different design and camera island and advertises IP64 protection.
Value A discounted Note 13 Pro 4G can be the better purchase if its battery health, software status, warranty, and condition are acceptable.

The Note 14S makes more sense when it is new, officially supported in the buyer’s market, and priced close to or below remaining Note 13 Pro stock. An owner of a Note 13 Pro 4G has little reason to upgrade solely for speed, camera resolution, charging, or battery capacity.

Do not confuse this comparison with the base Redmi Note 13 4G. Xiaomi’s official base Note 13 specifications list a 108MP camera and 33W charging, which do not match the Note 14S. The stronger hardware match is clearly the Note 13 Pro 4G.

Redmi Note 14S versus Redmi Note 14 4G and Note 14 5G

The model number alone does not settle this comparison because Xiaomi changes specifications, memory options, NFC, chargers, and pricing by region. Check the local version of the Redmi Note 14 series page before comparing.

Against the Redmi Note 14 4G

Compare the exact local models on five points: main-camera hardware, ultra-wide availability, charging speed, battery capacity, display brightness, and promised software support. The Note 14S may be attractive for its 200MP OIS camera, 67W charging, headphone jack, and microSD slot, but a newer Note 14 4G variant may offer a newer software baseline or better support window. The correct choice depends on street price and regional specification, not simply the number "14."

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Against the Redmi Note 14 5G

The Note 14 5G is the more logical option for anyone who wants 5G, a newer network platform, or better future network compatibility. The Note 14S can still win when its main camera, charging speed, storage configuration, or price is materially better. Compare the local versions rather than importing a specification sheet from another country.

Availability, price, and importing risks

The reported launch price for the 8GB/256GB version was UAH 10,999 in Ukraine and CZK 5,999 in Czechia, roughly €240 depending on the exchange rate. These are 2025 launch-market prices, not a universal current price. In 2026, compare the actual price by country, configuration, seller, warranty, tax, shipping, and box contents.

The phone was initially reported in Czechia, Ukraine, and select Central and Eastern European markets. Xiaomi’s global page confirms the product, but it does not establish universal retail availability. A 2025 Gadgets360 report stated that the device could be purchased through official Redmi channels in India, while the publication’s current product database says "Launched in India: No." The available evidence therefore does not establish a clear official India launch, and buyers should verify local Xiaomi listings rather than repeat the older claim.

U.S. buyers: check more than LTE bands

The Redmi Note 14S is not a natural U.S. purchase. It lacks 5G and was primarily marketed outside the United States. Its listed LTE support includes several bands used in the U.S., including B2, B4, B5, B12, B13, B17, B26, and B66, but frequency overlap does not guarantee activation, full coverage, VoLTE, Wi-Fi Calling, or reliable service.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Before importing, complete this checklist:

  1. Confirm the exact model number: 2502FRA65G.
  2. Ask the seller which regional firmware is installed and whether the bootloader or software has been modified.
  3. Check the intended carrier’s current IMEI whitelist and device-certification requirements.
  4. Confirm VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling compatibility with that carrier.
  5. Verify the seller’s warranty, return window, taxes, and repair arrangements.
  6. Confirm whether the charger is included and whether its plug is suitable.
  7. Confirm NFC availability if contactless payments matter.
  8. Expect 4G only, even where your plan and coverage support 5G.

Kimovil’s U.S. compatibility analysis also warns that carriers can reject a device despite apparent frequency compatibility because certification and whitelist policies apply.

Known specification conflicts to watch

Xiaomi’s own pages do not agree on every detail. These are the conflicts buyers and editors should know about:

  • Macro camera: the main specification page says 2MP, while one FAQ line says 3MP. Use 2MP as the primary listed specification and treat the FAQ line as an inconsistency.
  • Brightness: the product page says 1,300 nits peak, while the FAQ says 1,000 nits maximum. The measurement conditions are not explained.
  • SIM and microSD: the FAQ uses dual-SIM-plus-microSD wording, but the specification sheet describes SIM 1 plus a hybrid SIM-or-microSD slot. Assume the hybrid arrangement unless the local tray confirms otherwise.
  • Bluetooth: current Xiaomi specifications list Bluetooth 5.3, while some launch coverage reported Bluetooth 5.2.
  • Charger: a 67W adapter is included in some markets and omitted or sold separately in others.
  • Android version: Xiaomi identifies HyperOS 1.0 at launch but does not clearly state the Android base version in the reviewed FAQ.

These differences are not necessarily evidence of different internal hardware; they may reflect regional packaging, changing documentation, or different measurement labels. They are, however, reasons to check the exact local listing before purchase.

Who should buy the Redmi Note 14S?

It is a good fit for:

  • Buyers who prioritize an AMOLED display, a stabilized main camera, and fast wired charging.
  • Moderate users who do not need demanding gaming or 4K video.
  • People who want stereo speakers, a headphone jack, microSD expansion, or an IR blaster.
  • Shoppers in a market where Xiaomi sells the phone officially with a usable local warranty.
  • Anyone finding it substantially cheaper than a comparable newer 5G phone.

It is a poor fit for:

  • Anyone who requires 5G.
  • Heavy gamers or users needing a modern performance-focused chipset.
  • Buyers who want 4K video, a telephoto camera, or a stronger ultra-wide camera.
  • Long-term buyers who require a clearly published model-specific support period.
  • U.S. buyers who need guaranteed carrier activation and nationwide compatibility.
  • Anyone paying nearly the same price as a newer 5G Redmi or another current-generation phone.

Is the Redmi Note 14S worth buying in 2026?

Buy it when the phone is an official local model, the price is aggressively discounted, and your priorities are the AMOLED display, 200MP OIS main camera, 67W charging, headphone jack, and expandable storage. Those features remain useful even though the platform is older.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose a discounted Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G when it costs substantially less and is in good condition. The Note 14S does not offer an obvious performance or camera-generation leap over that model. Compare battery health, warranty, software-update status, and network compatibility before choosing used or old stock.

Choose a Redmi Note 14 5G, a newer Redmi Note 15-series model, or another current 5G phone when 5G, longer support, newer processing hardware, or future-proofing matters. A 2026 phone should not be considered current-generation merely because its name contains "14."

Avoid an import when the seller cannot confirm the model number, regional ROM, carrier compatibility, warranty, NFC behavior, or charger contents. The lower sticker price may not compensate for activation, repair, or return problems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Redmi Note 14S 5G?

No. The Redmi Note 14S is 4G LTE only. Xiaomi’s official FAQ says that 5G network mode is not supported, so listings that call it the Redmi Note 14S 5G should be treated cautiously.

Is the Redmi Note 14S the same phone as the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G?

It is not officially described by Xiaomi as the same phone, but the hardware match is unusually close: both use the Helio G99-Ultra, 200MP OIS main camera, 6.67-inch AMOLED display, 5,000mAh battery, 67W charging, and expandable storage. The Note 14S is best described as a likely regional rebrand or lightly redesigned version.

Does the Redmi Note 14S have NFC?

The global specification lists NFC, but Xiaomi says NFC functions vary by region. Confirm the exact local model before relying on contactless payments.

Does it support a microSD card?

Yes, Xiaomi advertises microSD expansion up to 1TB. However, the official specification describes a hybrid slot, so using a second SIM and a microSD card simultaneously may not be possible.

Does the Redmi Note 14S have a headphone jack?

Yes. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack, along with stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support.

Is the charger included?

It depends on the market. Xiaomi lists a 67W charger in some regional packages, while other documentation indicates that the adapter may be omitted or sold separately. Check the exact retailer package contents.

Does it support wireless charging?

No. The Redmi Note 14S supports 67W wired charging but not wireless charging.

What Android version does it use?

Xiaomi identifies HyperOS 1.0 as the launch software, but the reviewed official FAQ does not clearly identify the underlying Android version. Check the exact regional firmware under Settings → About phone.

Can the Redmi Note 14S record 4K video?

No 4K mode is listed in Xiaomi’s official specifications. Rear video recording is listed up to 1080p at 60fps.

Is the Redmi Note 14S waterproof?

No. Its IP64 rating indicates dust protection and resistance to splashes under specified conditions. It is not rated for submersion, swimming, seawater, or charging while wet.

Is the Redmi Note 14S good for gaming?

It is suitable for casual and less demanding games, but the Helio G99-Ultra is an older 4G budget chipset. It is not a good choice for buyers seeking sustained high-end gaming performance.

Will the Redmi Note 14S work in the United States?

It may work on some U.S. networks because it supports several U.S.-relevant LTE bands, but bands do not guarantee carrier approval, IMEI acceptance, VoLTE, Wi-Fi Calling, or complete coverage. Verify the exact model and carrier whitelist before importing, and expect no 5G.

The Bottom Line

Final verdict: The Redmi Note 14S is a capable 4G budget phone with an excellent-on-paper feature mix: a 120Hz AMOLED display, 200MP OIS main camera, 67W charging, stereo audio, headphone jack, NFC, IR, and microSD support. But its Helio G99-Ultra platform is old, its video recording is limited to 1080p, and its hardware closely resembles the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G.

It is worth considering only at a strong local price with confirmed warranty and package contents. Choose a newer Redmi 5G phone when network longevity, performance, or clearer software support matters more than the Note 14S’s camera and charging features.
