The Redmi 17C 5G is a strong fit if you want a large 6.9-inch 120Hz screen, a 6000mAh typical battery, 5G and a headphone jack. Its clearest compromise is display sharpness: Xiaomi lists a 1600 × 720 HD+ panel, while Digit describes the Motorola G57 Power’s display as FHD+. For buyers in India, the Realme C85 5G and Motorola G57 Power are the most directly comparable alternatives. The best choice depends on local price, storage, and whether you value screen detail, battery capacity or charging speed most.

You want a large, high-refresh display
Xiaomi lists a 6.9-inch display with up to 120Hz refresh, 1600 × 720 resolution, 660 nits typical brightness and 810 nits HBM. The size and refresh rate suit readers who prefer a spacious screen and smoother scrolling; the HD+ resolution is the trade-off if crisp text and fine detail matter more. You value a headphone jack and expandable storage
Xiaomi Singapore lists a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual SIM plus microSD, Bluetooth 5.4 and FM radio through the headphone jack. That page lists 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB configurations and microSD expansion up to 1TB. Availability and configurations vary by market, so check the exact local model before buying. [Xiaomi Singapore specifications]
You need to know what is in the box
The phone supports 33W charging, but the power adapter included with the handset depends on the regional package. Xiaomi Singapore lists a 15W adapter in the box and says a compatible 33W adapter is sold separately; Xiaomi India product copy says the charger is included. Confirm the contents for the specific SKU and retailer rather than assuming either package applies everywhere. [Xiaomi Singapore specifications] [Xiaomi India product page]

When an alternative makes more sense
Choose the Realme C85 5G for the larger reported battery and faster charging
Digit lists a 7000mAh battery and 45W charging for the Realme, compared with the Redmi’s 6000mAh and 33W. Its listed 6.8-inch HD+ display reaches up to 144Hz. Both phones are reported with the Dimensity 6300, so the published comparison does not establish a chip-generation advantage for either one. These figures do not prove which phone lasts longer or performs better in everyday use. [Digit]

Choose the Motorola G57 Power if display resolution is a priority
Digit describes the Motorola’s 6.72-inch screen as FHD+ at 120Hz, versus HD+ for the Redmi and Realme. That makes it the clearest alternative in this comparison for shoppers prioritizing listed resolution over the Redmi’s larger display. Digit also lists a 7000mAh battery, 33W charging and a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip. Published specifications alone do not establish real-world speed, image quality or battery life. [Digit]

- Fluid 120Hz Display: Features a large 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for smooth scrolling and added durability.
What the Redmi specifications do—and do not—tell you
Battery and performance
Xiaomi lists a 6000mAh typical battery and the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, alongside LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage. These are component specifications, not comparative tests of endurance, app performance or reliability. Xiaomi’s claim that the battery retains at least 80% capacity after 1,000 full charging cycles is based on its internal laboratory tests, not independent testing. [Xiaomi Singapore specifications] [Xiaomi India product page]
Cameras
Xiaomi Singapore specifies a 50MP rear main camera with an auxiliary lens and an 8MP front camera; both rear and front video are listed up to 1080p at 30fps. Those figures describe hardware and recording modes, not how well photos turn out. Compare independent sample photos if camera quality is a deciding factor. [Xiaomi Singapore specifications]

Water and dust resistance
Xiaomi lists an IP64 rating under stated test conditions. It is not permission to immerse the phone: Xiaomi says resistance can deteriorate with daily use and warns against submersion. [Xiaomi Singapore specifications] [Xiaomi India product page]
Software updates and market-specific features
Xiaomi’s India product copy describes HyperOS 3 and says the phone has Android 16 with two OS upgrades and four years of security updates. Treat this as a market- and product-page-specific support claim; verify the policy for the local model. Xiaomi also warns that network bands, NFC availability, software features, memory configurations and box contents can vary by market. [Xiaomi India product page] [Xiaomi Singapore specifications]

Prices depend on country and date
The India figures above are reported starting prices from Digit on October 1, 2026. Separately, Cinco Días / Smartlife reported a Spain price of €239.99 on August 27, 2026. That Spain report is a market-specific snapshot, not a current price for other countries. Check the local listing, storage configuration, seller, warranty and return terms before comparing deals. Quick Recap
How to choose before you buy
- Compare like-for-like local prices. Check the exact storage configuration and current listing in your country; a reported launch or starting price may not match today’s offer.
- Decide how much screen sharpness matters. The Redmi’s listed resolution is 1600 × 720. Digit describes the Motorola panel as FHD+ and the Realme as HD+.
- Check the complete charging package. Compare charging support and whether the appropriate adapter is included with the regional SKU.
- Verify memory, bands and NFC. Confirm the exact RAM/storage configuration, 5G band support for your carrier and whether NFC is present on that market’s version.
- Check camera evidence and support terms. Look for independent image samples, then confirm the software update policy, warranty, seller and return window for the unit you plan to buy.
