The important screen caveat: its resolution is HD+ (1600 × 720), not Full HD. Launch coverage put the starting price at ₹20,999, with sales beginning October 7, 2026; prices and availability may have changed since launch.
Redmi 17C 5G price and sale date in India
India Today’s October 1, 2026 launch report listed the phone at ₹20,999 for 4GB/128GB and ₹22,999 for 6GB/128GB. The report said sales would start October 7, 2026, through Mi.com, Amazon India and Xiaomi Retail. Gadgets360 reported the same launch prices and date, naming Amazon and Xiaomi’s online store as sales channels. These are launch-time details, not a guarantee of today’s price, stock or channel availability.

Does the Redmi 17C 5G really have a 120Hz display?
Yes, Xiaomi lists a refresh rate up to 120Hz, and notes that the higher rate is available in supported apps. The panel measures 6.9 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 1600 × 720, which is HD+. A 120Hz ceiling can make supported scrolling and compatible content look smoother, but it does not change the screen’s resolution.

Xiaomi’s technical specifications give the resolution as 1600 × 720; that figure, rather than an inconsistent “FHD+” marketing note elsewhere on the product page, is the relevant specification.
Battery and charging
Xiaomi rates the battery at 6000mAh typical capacity. The phone supports 33W wired charging, and Xiaomi lists a 33W charger in the box. It also supports 10W reverse charging. Capacity alone does not establish how long a charge will last in everyday use; actual endurance depends on usage and conditions.

Xiaomi says its internal testing found 80% or more battery capacity remaining after 1,000 full charge cycles. This is a manufacturer-reported laboratory result, not an independent test or a promise about every individual phone.

Processor, memory and storage
The India model uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 5G processor. Xiaomi specifies a 6nm octa-core chip with a maximum CPU frequency of 2.4GHz and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The listed configurations pair 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

Claims of “up to 12GB RAM” include memory extension, which uses storage as additional memory; it is not 12GB of physical RAM. The phone supports microSD cards up to 1TB, sold separately, according to Xiaomi.
Cameras and video
Xiaomi lists a 50MP main rear camera with an auxiliary lens and an 8MP front camera. Both front and rear video recording are specified up to 1080p at 30 frames per second. These specifications describe resolution and frame rate, not real-world image quality.

Xiaomi lists HyperOS 3. India Today describes the software as based on Android 16. The official India specifications page does not state a software-update support duration, so no update-period claim is established here.

The phone carries an IP64 rating. Xiaomi describes dust protection and resistance to splashes under controlled conditions, and explicitly warns not to immerse the device in water. The company also notes that water and dust resistance can diminish with wear and use.
