Choose the Redmi Note 17 for its display
The reported FHD+ AMOLED panel is the clearest reason to favor the Note 17 if you watch video, read, or spend a lot of time looking at your phone. Its higher resolution and AMOLED technology distinguish it from the Redmi 17’s reported HD+ LCD. Xiaomi’s Singapore specifications identify the regional Note 17 display as 2396 × 1080 with a refresh rate up to 120Hz; see the official Singapore specifications for that variant.

Consider the Redmi 17 if price matters most
In the cited India comparison, the Redmi 17 is listed below the Note 17 at both compared storage configurations. That makes it the lower-priced option in that specific comparison, particularly if you are comfortable with the reported HD+ LCD. Verify the price for your location and exact configuration before buying.
Do not choose by processor name alone
The 91mobiles comparison lists Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 for the Redmi 17 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 for the Note 17. That is a paper specification difference, not proof that the Redmi 17 is faster in everyday use: the comparison does not supply benchmark results or hands-on performance testing.

What the camera and battery figures do—and do not—tell you
Camera specifications are not image-quality tests
The India comparison lists a 50MP rear camera on each phone, with an 8MP selfie camera on the Redmi 17 and a 16MP one on the Note 17. Those figures describe resolution, not the quality of photos in daylight, low light, or video. No independent camera test is established by the cited comparison, so do not treat megapixel counts as a settled photography verdict.

The India comparison reports 7,900mAh for the Redmi 17 and 8,000mAh for the Note 17, both with 45W wired charging. Xiaomi Singapore, however, lists a 7,700mAh silicon-carbon battery and 45W charging for its Note 17 5G. Those figures belong to different market or variant contexts; they should not be combined into one specification. Capacity alone also cannot establish real-world endurance, and the cited material does not provide a controlled battery-life comparison.

- Carrier and network compatibility for your location.
- The seller’s current price and local availability.
- Official software-support terms for the exact model in your market.
Xiaomi’s global REDMI Note 17 product page states “6 years of security updates.” The 91mobiles comparison reports four major OS upgrades and six years of security updates for both phones, but confirm support for the Redmi 17 and for your market and exact variant rather than treating the comparison as an official promise.
