The realme P4R is the stronger value pick for an India-market buyer with a firm ₹20,000 ceiling, based on the cited prices: realme announced it from ₹16,999, while vivo’s official store listed the T5 Lite 5G (4GB/128GB) at ₹20,499 on October 7, 2026. The P4R also has the larger stated battery and faster-refresh display. Check the exact variant and checkout price before buying; the two figures come from different price contexts.
Price: the P4R fits the stated budget more clearly
realme India’s 2026 newsroom announcement gives the P4R a starting price of ₹16,999 (realme India newsroom). That is a launch starting price, not confirmation that every configuration is currently available at that price. vivo India’s official store listed the T5 Lite 5G with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage for ₹20,499 when retrieved on October 7, 2026 (vivo India store).
These are not strictly like-for-like price quotes: one is a launch starting price and the other is a dated store listing for a specific variant. Still, the cited official figures favor the P4R for a strict budget below ₹20,000. Confirm the selected RAM/storage configuration, discounts, and final checkout total because retail prices and offers can change.

Battery and charging: the P4R has more capacity
realme specifies an 8,000mAh battery and 45W charging for the P4R; vivo lists 6,500mAh and 44W for the T5 Lite (realme P4R specifications; vivo T5 Lite listing). The P4R therefore has a 1,500mAh capacity advantage, while the listed charging ratings are close.

Capacity does not establish how many hours or days either phone will last. No comparable independent runtime test is available here, so treat manufacturer battery-life claims as marketing rather than a prediction of your own use.
Display: smoother refresh, but both are HD+ LCDs
The P4R’s official page lists a 144Hz LCD and 1200-nit peak brightness. vivo describes the T5 Lite’s screen as a 6.74-inch, 1600×720 LCD; a comparison listing reports its refresh rate as 120Hz (realme P4R specifications; vivo T5 Lite listing; 91mobiles comparison).

On the stated refresh rates, the P4R can update the display more frequently. Both are HD+ LCDs, however, so neither should be mistaken for a Full HD screen. A higher refresh rate alone also does not demonstrate better overall image quality.

Chipset
Comparison listings identify the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 in both phones (Gadgets 360 comparison). The chipset name does not separate them on the evidence available; the more useful buying differences are price, battery, display, and the features you prioritize.

Cameras
The listed rear main cameras are 50MP on both. The comparison data gives the T5 Lite a 5MP front camera and the P4R an 8MP front camera (91mobiles comparison). The higher front-camera megapixel count does not by itself prove better selfies, and no controlled head-to-head camera test is available here.
Software and update support
realme describes the P4R as running Android 16-based realme UI 7.0 (realme P4R specifications). Comparison data reports Android 16 with OriginOS 6 for the T5 Lite and lists two years of OS updates for each, plus three years of security updates for the P4R and four for the T5 Lite (91mobiles comparison). Those support durations were not confirmed in the official-page details available here; verify the manufacturers’ current terms if update longevity is a key reason to choose one.

Durability claims
Both manufacturers’ product information cites IP65 protection, and realme also describes MIL-STD-810H shock resistance; comparison data reports that standard for the T5 Lite as well (realme P4R specifications; vivo T5 Lite listing; 91mobiles comparison). These are stated ratings, not evidence that either phone is immune to damage. Check each manufacturer’s warranty terms for the precise limits of liquid and impact coverage.
Which phone should you buy?
- Choose the realme P4R if ₹20,000 is a hard limit and you prioritize the cited lower starting price, 8,000mAh battery, or 144Hz display.
- Consider the vivo T5 Lite if a retailer’s discount brings your preferred configuration within budget, or if its reported software-support profile matters more to you. Verify the current price and official update terms first.
