On listed specifications, neither phone wins across the board. The OPPO Reno16 5G (model CPH2865) has the more complete camera system, with a 50MP telephoto at 3.5x optical zoom and official IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. The realme P4 Pro 5G has the faster, sharper display, the larger rated battery and a 128GB storage option. A verified price difference is not yet possible: OPPO’s own two pages give different prices, and realme’s official pages do not list a selling price at all.
This comparison covers the India models only. OPPO notes that Reno16 series models and specifications differ by country, so this article does not apply to the Reno16c or Reno16 Pro.
Specifications side by side
The table uses manufacturer-listed values from realme India’s and OPPO India’s official specification pages and OPPO’s product details page. These are not independent test results.

Display: higher refresh rate on realme, more pixels on realme, and similar peak brightness
The realme P4 Pro lists the higher maximum refresh rate (144Hz against 120Hz) and the higher resolution (1280 × 2800 against 2640 × 1216). Both list 1800-nit high-brightness mode in their specifications. realme’s product page also claims 6500-nit peak brightness; that figure is a manufacturer claim, and OPPO does not list an equivalent peak figure on the pages checked, so the two cannot be compared directly on that number.

- 167.2 x 76.6 x 7.9 mm (6.58 x 3.02 x 0.31 in)
- 201 g (7.09 oz)
- 6.74 inches, IPS LCD, 720 x 1600 pixels
- 128GB Storage, 4GB RAM, microSDXC (uses shared SIM slot)
- Android 15, Realme UI 5.0, Unisoc T7250 (12 nm), Octa-core (2x1.8 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6x1.6 GHz Cortex-A55)
For most people, the practical difference is smoothness at high refresh rates and sharpness at normal viewing distance. Whether either panel looks better in daylight or sustains its brightness under heat has not been independently tested.
Cameras: OPPO’s telephoto is the clearest listed advantage
The main difference in the camera hardware is the third rear lens. The Reno16 5G adds a 50MP telephoto with OIS and 3.5x optical zoom, which the realme P4 Pro does not list. The realme P4 Pro’s rear set is simpler: a 50MP main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide. The Reno16’s ultra-wide is 50MP, so its listed wide-angle sensor is also higher resolution.
OPPO India’s launch announcement used the phrase “All-Focal-Length 4K 60fps HDR video recording” to describe the camera’s video capability. That is OPPO’s own wording, not an independent evaluation. Both front cameras are 50MP. Specifications alone do not show how either camera handles low light, colour, or zoom quality.

Both phones list 80W charging, so charging wattage does not separate them. The realme P4 Pro lists a larger battery: 7000mAh typical and 6830mAh rated, against 6700mAh typical and 6490mAh rated for the Reno16. The “typical” figure is the manufacturer’s stated value; the rated figure is the lower, more conservative number. Both sets of figures come from the manufacturers, and no independent battery-life test was found for either phone, so real-world runtime is unknown.

realme lists an adapter in the box. OPPO India’s pages checked do not state whether an adapter is included with the Reno16.
Memory, storage and durability
Both phones offer 8GB or 12GB of RAM. The realme P4 Pro also offers a 128GB storage option, while the Reno16 is sold only with 256GB. The Reno16 uses LPDDR5X memory, while realme lists LPDDR4X. Neither phone supports a memory card, and the Reno16 is explicitly listed without expansion.
The durability gap is the clearest difference. OPPO’s product details page lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. IP66 and IP68 cover dust and water immersion; IP69 and IP69K cover high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. We could not confirm an IP rating for the realme P4 Pro 5G from its official specification page, so do not assume it is rated unless realme’s product page or box documentation confirms it.

Price: what is confirmed and what is not
There is no verified current price difference between these two phones. The available evidence supports only the following.
OPPO Reno16 5G launch prices (2 July 2026)
OPPO India’s launch release, dated 2 July 2026, listed the Reno16 5G at ₹61,999 for 8GB + 256GB and ₹67,999 for 12GB + 256GB. The release said sales would start on 9 July 2026 through Amazon, Flipkart, retail outlets and the OPPO E-store.
OPPO Reno16 5G prices on the later details page (dated 31 August 2026)
OPPO’s product details page states that its prices are correct as at 31 August 2026. It lists ₹66,999 for 8GB + 256GB and ₹72,999 for 12GB + 256GB, and says prices are subject to change. These figures are ₹5,000 higher than the launch prices for each configuration. The page does not explain the change, and the two OPPO sources conflict, so neither should be quoted as the current price without a date.

Which phone suits which buyer
- Choose the realme P4 Pro 5G if you want a higher refresh-rate, higher-resolution display, the larger rated battery (6830mAh against 6490mAh), and a 128GB storage option at a possibly lower price.
- Choose the OPPO Reno16 5G if you want the telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, a 50MP ultra-wide, a higher-resolution ultra-wide, official multi-level water and dust ratings, or LPDDR5X memory.
- Do not decide on chipset or charging alone. Both phones use Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and 80W charging, so those features do not separate them.
If you shoot a lot of zoomed photos or want a verified water and dust rating, the Reno16 5G has the better listed specification set. If display smoothness and battery capacity are your priorities, the realme P4 Pro 5G has the stronger listed set. Confirm the price for your chosen configuration before buying.
What the specifications cannot tell you
No independent comparative tests of battery runtime, camera image quality, gaming stability, heat, or durability were found for either phone. The battery, brightness and camera figures above are manufacturer claims. realme’s performance and benchmark figures are vendor lab results and should be attributed to realme if quoted. Read independent reviews once they are published before drawing conclusions about how either phone performs day to day.
How to check the live price before you buy
- Open OPPO India’s official store and find the Reno16 5G (CPH2865). Note the exact RAM and storage configuration and the price shown, with the date you checked it.
- Open realme India’s store and find the realme P4 Pro 5G. Note the price for the same storage tier you are comparing, and the date.
- Check that both listings are for India, and that the model matches the one you intend to buy. Do not treat Reno16c or Reno16 Pro listings as the same phone.
- Compare the price against the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB configurations for the Reno16, since those are the configurations OPPO has priced. For the realme, compare the storage tier you are considering.
- Check the retailer’s listing for whether the charger, case and any warranty terms are included before you compare totals.
If the prices you find differ from the figures above, the live price on the official store takes precedence over this article.
