The realme P3 Ultra is the stronger phone on paper. It has a sharper curved display, a higher-tier MediaTek chip, more RAM options, a documented ultrawide camera and 80W charging. The realme P4R answers with a much larger 8000mAh battery and a lower listed price in India. Which one makes sense depends on whether those P3 Ultra upgrades are worth the price gap, and that gap changes with the retailer, the date and the storage variant.
Side-by-side specifications
The table below uses the figures published by realme for the P3 Ultra and the figures reported by independent listings and launch coverage for the P4R. Where two sources differ, the table gives the figure from the source named in the text that follows it.

The P3 Ultra’s specifications come from realme India’s official product page. The P4R’s come from comparison sites, review and listing pages, and launch coverage, because an official P4R specification page was not among the sources used for this comparison.

The two phones trade off in the display. The P3 Ultra has about 2.4 times the pixel count of the P4R’s HD+ panel, so its text and images should look crisper at normal viewing distance. The P4R’s panel is an LCD with a higher refresh-rate ceiling of 144Hz, against the P3 Ultra’s 120Hz.

Refresh rate and resolution are separate measures. A 144Hz panel updates motion more often, which makes scrolling smoother, but it does not make static text or photos sharper. A 1570×720 panel at 144Hz will look less detailed than a 2800×1272 panel at 120Hz, even though its motion is slightly smoother. Note also that “up to” refresh rates are maximums: the actual rate depends on the app and the display mode a phone uses.
Performance and memory
The P3 Ultra uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 Ultra, which sits above the Dimensity 6300 listed for the P4R, and it is offered with up to 12GB of RAM against the P4R’s 6GB. In practice, a higher-tier chip and more memory give more headroom for heavy games, multitasking and apps that stay in memory for long periods.
No matched benchmark or real-world performance test was run for this comparison, so this article does not say how much faster one phone is in daily use. The gap is clear from the hardware listings; the size of the gap in speed is not.

Battery and charging
The P4R’s 8000mAh battery is about one-third larger than the P3 Ultra’s 6000mAh typical rating. Capacity alone does not decide endurance, because the display, chip and software all draw power. Gadgets 360’s review of the P4R describes good two-day use. That reflects the outlet’s own testing, not a figure that applies to every user.
The P3 Ultra charges much faster on paper. Its 80W SUPERVOOC charging is the more significant advantage when a phone runs low during a busy day, and realme includes the 80W adapter in the box. The P4R’s 45W figure is lower, which means a longer top-up time, though the larger battery partly offsets that.
Cameras
The P3 Ultra has a 50MP Sony main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), an 8MP ultrawide and a 16MP selfie camera. The P4R is listed with a single 50MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera. The P3 Ultra therefore offers two things the P4R does not document: an ultrawide lens and OIS on the main camera.

Megapixel counts are a weak guide to image quality, since sensor size, processing and lens design matter as much. Review coverage of the P4R describes its low-light performance as weak, so buyers who shoot often at night should weigh that point more heavily than the rear camera’s megapixel count.
Software
At the baseline listed for each phone, the P3 Ultra ships with realme UI 6.0 on Android 15, while the P4R is reported with realme UI 7.0 on Android 16. Software versions on any phone can change after an update, so the version a unit ships with may differ from the one shown here.
Price: what the listings show
Prices for both phones move often, and the figures below come from different sites at different dates. None of them is an official launch price or a guaranteed offer.

The listed gap between the two phones is about ₹12,000 in the Smartprix comparison. That figure is not like-for-like, because the sources do not confirm that both phones were listed with matching RAM and storage. Compare a P3 Ultra 8GB/128GB against a P4R 4GB/128GB, or a P3 Ultra 12GB/256GB against a P4R 6GB/256GB, before drawing a conclusion about value. Check the current price at the seller you plan to use, because these figures will age.

Choose the P3 Ultra if
- A sharper screen matters more to you than a higher refresh-rate ceiling.
- You want a faster chip and the option of 12GB RAM for heavier use.
- You value an ultrawide camera and OIS on the main lens.
- Fast charging, with the adapter included, is important to you.
Choose the P4R if
- Battery endurance is your top priority, and an 8000mAh battery matters more to you than charging speed.
- The listed India price is the deciding factor, and you can match a P4R variant to the one you would otherwise buy.
- You can accept an HD+ LCD, a lower-tier chip, a single rear camera and weaker low-light results.
If you are unsure, start with the price. If the P3 Ultra is only slightly more expensive for your chosen storage, its display, chip and camera advantages are usually worth the difference. If the gap is large, the P4R’s battery and lower cost make it the more sensible buy.
