The realme GT 7T is the stronger phone on paper. It has a faster chip, a sharper AMOLED display, an ultrawide rear camera, a 32MP selfie camera and 120W charging. The realme 16T 5G counters with a larger 8000mAh battery, a 144Hz refresh rate and, at the price seen on 7 October 2026, a lower sticker price. The right choice depends on whether performance and display quality or battery size and cost matter more to you. This comparison is based on published specifications, manufacturer claims and figures reported by 91mobiles. Neither phone was tested hands-on for this article.

Performance and gaming
The GT 7T uses the Dimensity 8400-MAX, a higher tier than the Dimensity 6300 in the 16T. Its official specifications also list LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage, while the 16T is listed with UFS 2.2 storage. For day-to-day apps and multitasking, that gap is the main reason the GT 7T sits in a different performance class.

For gaming, realme says the GT 7T supports 120 FPS modes in more than 20 popular games. The 16T page claims a 60FPS experience in mainstream games. Both are manufacturer statements. No independent gameplay testing of either claim was found for this comparison.
Display
Both phones are listed at about 6.8 inches, but they differ in panel type and in what they prioritise. The GT 7T has a 2800×1280 AMOLED panel at 120Hz, which gives it the higher pixel count and the richer panel technology. The 16T has a 1570×720 LCD at 144Hz, so it refreshes faster but has far fewer pixels.
The trade-off is therefore sharpness and panel type against smoothness of motion. Higher refresh rate does not make the 16T’s screen better overall. realme says the GT 7T can reach a local peak brightness of up to 6000 nits under 100,000 lux in its own lab testing. That is a short-burst figure for a small area under specific conditions, not the brightness you should expect for full-screen content in everyday use. The 16T page does not state a comparable brightness figure.

Cameras
On paper, the GT 7T offers more range. Its 50MP main camera is paired with an 8MP ultrawide, which gives a wider field of view for group shots, landscapes and tight indoor spaces. The 16T pairs its 50MP main camera with a 2MP secondary sensor. The GT 7T’s front camera is 32MP and the 16T’s is 16MP.
Megapixel counts and sensor lists describe hardware, not image quality. Processing, lens quality and low-light performance decide the final result, and no independent camera test of either phone was located for this comparison. If photography is a priority, look for side-by-side sample shots from a reviewer before deciding.
Battery and charging
The 16T has the larger stated battery at 8000mAh, against the GT 7T’s 7000mAh typical capacity. realme describes the GT 7T battery as two 3500mAh cells, which it presents as 7000mAh typical and 6850mAh rated. Capacity is only part of the picture. The GT 7T charges at 120W and the 16T at 45W, so the GT 7T will typically refill its battery faster from a suitable charger.

Runtime results point in the other direction. 91mobiles recorded a PCMark battery result of 16h 05m for the GT 7T and 17h 41m for the 16T. These are one publication’s test figures, and PCMark’s battery test is a workload-based measurement, not a guarantee of how long either phone will last with your apps.

The three-day battery-life figure comes from a light-usage test model, and realme says actual results depend on environment and usage. The seven-year battery-health statement is a theoretical calculation shown on realme’s product page, not a measured result.

On 7 October 2026, the 91mobiles comparison page showed the GT 7T at ₹30,999 with an out-of-stock status, and the 16T at ₹27,999 with a link to Amazon. The price gap is therefore about ₹3,000 on that day, but it is not a stable fact. A different search listing showed another GT 7T price, and prices on Indian marketplaces move frequently.
Before relying on any price, check:
- The exact RAM and storage variant, since the price applies only to that configuration.
- The seller and whether the listing is currently in stock.
- The date on which the price was seen.
- Any offer that changes the final amount you pay, which can differ from the listed price.
The sources reviewed do not establish official launch pricing or a guaranteed current deal for either phone.
Software support
The 91mobiles table lists four years of OS updates and six years of security updates for the GT 7T, against three years of OS updates and four years of security updates for the 16T. For a phone you plan to keep for several years, that difference matters. The official realme product pages consulted did not confirm these durations, so check realme’s current update policy for your region before treating them as settled commitments.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the GT 7T if your priorities are:
- Performance and gaming, with a higher-tier chip and a 120 FPS gaming claim.
- A sharper AMOLED display with higher peak brightness in realme’s test.
- An ultrawide rear camera and a 32MP selfie camera.
- Faster charging at 120W.
- Longer stated software support, provided the 91mobiles figures are confirmed for your region.
Choose the 16T if your priorities are:
- The larger 8000mAh battery and the 144Hz refresh rate.
- A lower price, provided the listing is in stock and matches the variant you want.
- Basic camera needs, where a 50MP main camera covers most everyday shots.
If you buy the 16T, confirm the listing before you order. If you buy the GT 7T, confirm stock first, since the comparison page showed it out of stock.
