On the published specifications, neither phone is a clear overall winner. The realme GT 7T lists the stronger chip and the faster charging rating, while the OPPO Reno16 5G (India model CPH2865) lists a more flexible rear camera set, including a telephoto lens. A price difference cannot yet be stated with confidence: OPPO’s India prices are dated, and a current India selling price for the GT 7T could not be confirmed.
Which models are being compared
This comparison covers the realme GT 7T 5G as sold in India and the OPPO Reno16 5G, model CPH2865. OPPO says Reno16-series models, prices and specifications differ between countries, so figures from another market should not be applied to the Indian phone. OPPO’s separate Reno16c 5G for India is a different model (CPH2859) and is not part of this comparison. See OPPO’s India Reno16 details page for the regional note.
Every specification below is a manufacturer claim taken from the realme India GT 7T product page or the OPPO India Reno16 specifications page. Neither company’s numbers are independent test results.
Price difference: what can and cannot be stated
OPPO’s India details page lists the Reno16 5G at the prices below and states they were correct on 31 August 2026 and are subject to change.
#1 Best Overall
| Reno16 5G configuration (India) | OPPO price (stated correct 31 Aug 2026) | List price shown on the same page |
|---|---|---|
| 8GB + 256GB | ₹66,999 | ₹89,999 |
| 12GB + 256GB | ₹72,999 | ₹99,999 |
A current India selling price for the realme GT 7T could not be confirmed, so no price difference can be stated today. realme’s GT 7 series launch announcement names Amazon.in among launch sales channels. That shows the channel at launch, not that the phone is listed or in stock now.
Checking the gap yourself
- Open the realme GT 7T 5G page on realme’s India site and note which storage configurations and prices it shows on the seller page you plan to use.
- Compare like with like: match the GT 7T’s price against the Reno16’s 8GB + 256GB or 12GB + 256GB price, not against list prices.
- Write down the date next to each price. OPPO’s figures are dated, and retailer prices can change between visits.
- Confirm the seller and stock. A launch channel named in a press release does not confirm a current listing.
- Check what is in the box. OPPO’s India product listing includes a protective case, charger, USB cable, SIM ejector and quick guide, and OPPO notes package contents may vary by market. Account for the Reno16’s included accessories, and check the GT 7T seller listing for its own contents.

Processor and performance
The two chips come from different vendors and use different CPU and GPU layouts, so their spec sheets cannot be compared line by line. realme describes the Dimensity 8400-MAX with an all-big-core CPU design, which is a statement about architecture and a stated clock ceiling, not a measured result. OPPO lists the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4’s 8-core CPU and Adreno 722 GPU, again without benchmark data. Neither page reports sustained performance, thermal behaviour or gaming frame rates. Treat the chip line as a starting point, and look for independent reviews before assuming a speed gap in everyday use.

- 162.4 x 76 x 8.3 mm (6.39 x 2.99 x 0.33 in)
Memory is similar on both sheets, with LPDDR5X on each. The Reno16’s storage is fixed by the configuration you buy, and it has no microSD slot. The GT 7T’s storage capacity options were not stated on the product page used here, so check them on the live listing before comparing.
Display
The Reno16 is listed as a 16.05 cm FHD+ AMOLED with up to 120Hz refresh and a 1800-nit high-brightness mode. realme promotes a 6000-nit local peak, but only under the bright ambient conditions it specifies, and the GT 7T’s refresh rate is not stated on its product page. Peak, local and high-brightness figures are measured under different conditions, so a higher number on one sheet does not mean the screen is brighter outdoors. The GT 7T’s 2600Hz figure is a touch response rating, not a refresh rate. Refresh rate and outdoor visibility are best judged in independent reviews.

Cameras
On paper, the Reno16 has the more flexible set. It lists three 50MP rear cameras: wide, a 116° ultrawide and a telephoto with 3.5× optical zoom. The GT 7T lists an IMX896 main camera with optical image stabilisation and an 8MP ultrawide, and its listed rear set has no telephoto lens. The practical difference is zoom: only the Reno16 has a dedicated optical zoom camera in these listings. Megapixel and lens counts do not establish image quality, which depends on processing, lighting and tuning, so sample photos from independent reviews are the test that matters.

realme lists a 7000mAh typical and 6850mAh rated battery with 120W charging, and says a 0–100% charge takes 42 minutes under its test conditions. OPPO lists a 6700mAh typical and 6490mAh rated battery with 80W SUPERVOOC charging. Compare typical with typical and rated with rated. realme states that its figures come from lab testing and that actual results may vary. Neither company’s sheet gives screen-on time, so the capacity gap should not be read as a battery-life result. The gap in capacity is small; the gap in charging rating is larger, but it is still a manufacturer figure.

Durability and water and dust ratings
realme lists IP69 for the GT 7T and warns that protection can decrease with wear; its footnotes give the water test conditions. OPPO lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K for the Reno16. An IP rating describes a dust and water test under defined conditions. It does not make a phone waterproof, and a longer list of ratings does not show better everyday resistance. Read each brand’s footnotes for the test conditions before treating either rating as a difference.
Quick Recap
Which one to choose
- Choose the realme GT 7T if chip and fast-charging claims matter most to you and its live India price is lower than the Reno16 price for the storage tier you need.
- Choose the OPPO Reno16 5G (CPH2865) if zoom photography matters, since it is the only one of the two with a listed telephoto lens, or if the listed 120Hz panel and 1800-nit high-brightness mode are priorities.
- Before buying either, read independent reviews. The specifications above cannot show sustained performance, camera results or real battery life.
