The realme GT 7 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G are both 5G smartphones, but the published specifications differ enough that they have to be compared market by market. The clearest published differences are the chipsets (MediaTek Dimensity 9400e on the GT 7, Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 on the Redmi) and the battery and display details each brand highlights. A reliable price difference, however, cannot be calculated from the evidence available. No current listing for the GT 7 was found at a storage tier matching the Redmi’s, so any single-number gap would be a guess. The only dated Redmi price found is a Spanish report from 17 September 2026.
Which market this comparison covers
realme and Xiaomi publish separate pages for each country, and those pages do not always carry the same details. realme’s Saudi Arabia page for the GT 7 includes network band information, while its India page for the same phone puts the 7000mAh battery and Dimensity 9400e chipset at the centre. Xiaomi’s India page for the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G lists the chipset, display and memory options, and its UK page covers the same model with region-specific details. Until a specific market is chosen, values from these pages should not be merged into one “global” configuration.
This article uses realme’s India GT 7 page and Xiaomi’s India Redmi page for the specification comparison. Prices are discussed separately, because the only dated Redmi price is for Spain.

What the specifications show
Processor
The GT 7 is built around the Dimensity 9400e, while the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5. Chip names alone do not establish a measured performance gap, and the sources here include no benchmark results. A performance verdict would need independent testing under matched conditions, including thermal behaviour during sustained gaming.
Battery
realme’s India page for the GT 7 highlights a 7000mAh battery, and the battery is the headline feature of that page. Xiaomi’s India page for the Redmi does not state a capacity in the sources reviewed, so a battery comparison cannot be completed. Charging wattage is also not stated for either phone, so neither charging speed nor battery endurance can be compared directly.

- 162.4 x 76.1 x 8.3 mm (6.39 x 3.00 x 0.33 in)
Display
The Redmi has the more complete published display specification: 6.83 inches, 1.5K resolution, AMOLED panel and up to 120Hz refresh. The GT 7 pages reviewed describe a high-brightness display without giving size, resolution or refresh rate. Until those figures are confirmed for the exact GT 7 model, a side-by-side display comparison is not possible.
Memory and storage
The Redmi’s India page lists 8GB and 12GB RAM options. The Spanish pricing report lists the Redmi at 8GB RAM with 256GB and 512GB storage. The GT 7 memory and storage configurations are not stated in the pages reviewed, so there is no confirmed matching tier to compare against. Confirm the GT 7 configurations on the realme store page for your market before comparing prices.

Cameras, software and connectivity
Camera hardware, software update commitments and charging details are not stated for either phone in the sources reviewed, so none of these areas can be compared responsibly. realme’s Saudi Arabia page includes network band information for the GT 7, but band support varies by model and region, so confirm the band list for the exact variant you intend to buy.
The price difference: what can and cannot be said
The only dated retail price for the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G comes from a Spanish report by Cinco Días Smartlife, published 17 September 2026. It lists €599.99 for the 8GB/256GB version and €649.99 for the 8GB/512GB version. Those are reported prices, not a verified live offer, and they are about three weeks old as of this article.

The report does not give a matching GT 7 price in Spain or anywhere else. The Amazon listings on the 91mobiles comparison page also do not settle the question, because they do not show whether the offers are live, region-matched or at the same storage tier. Any figure quoted as the difference between the two phones would therefore compare unlike things.

That number is a storage upgrade cost, not a comparison with the GT 7.

- Choose one country. Pick the market you will buy in, then use that market’s realme and Xiaomi store pages. Do not mix an Indian GT 7 price with a Spanish Redmi price.
- Match the configuration. Confirm the GT 7’s RAM and storage on realme’s store page and pair it with the Redmi tier that has the same memory and storage. If no GT 7 tier matches, say so rather than comparing the closest variants.
- Record the price type. Note whether each price is a launch price, a list price, a retailer price or a time-limited promotion, and write down the date you checked it.
- Check the seller and stock. A retailer price is only useful if the item is in stock and sold by the seller shown. Marketplace listings may differ from the manufacturer’s store.
- Check what is included. Confirm whether the charger and other accessories are included in each price, since bundles can change the real cost.
Once these checks are done for the same country and configuration, the difference becomes a simple subtraction. Until then, the honest answer to “how much more is one phone?” is that the evidence does not yet support a number.
