On the listed specifications, the TECNO POVA 8 5G has the sharper display and newer, higher-tier-listed chipset; the realme 16T 5G has a marginally larger screen and a higher-resolution selfie camera. Both are listed with an 8,000mAh battery, 45W charging and a 50MP main rear camera. There is no reliable price winner in the available India figures: the realme listing conflicts with its own search result, so compare live prices for the same storage configuration before buying.

TECNO’s specification page confirms the POVA 8 5G display, chipset, camera, battery, charging and software details. Most realme specifications above come from 91mobiles’ comparison listing, rather than an official realme specification page. Product configurations and features can differ by market.
Which phone has the better display?
The POVA 8 5G has the sharper listed panel: its 1080 × 2344 resolution is higher than the realme 16T 5G’s 720 × 1570. Both are listed at up to 144Hz, while the realme’s screen is slightly larger at 6.81 inches versus 6.76 inches for TECNO. Choose TECNO if resolution is your priority; the realme’s small size advantage does not make its lower resolution sharper.

The comparison listing names a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 in the realme, while TECNO’s official Indonesian specifications confirm a Dimensity 7100 in the POVA 8 5G. Those model names indicate different chipsets, but they are not by themselves a dependable measure of everyday speed: the available information does not establish comparable, controlled testing conditions or configurations.

91mobiles lists benchmark figures of 2,853 versus 2,007 in Geekbench multi-core and 757,391 versus 633,631 in AnTuTu for TECNO and realme, respectively. The testing method and device configurations are not sufficiently described to treat those results as a conclusive real-world comparison.
For software, 91mobiles lists Android 16 with Realme UI for the realme. TECNO’s Indonesian page specifies HiOS 16 based on Android 16 for the POVA 8 5G. Software-support duration is not established by an official promise in the available sources, so verify update commitments with the manufacturer for your region before relying on them.

What should you expect from the cameras?
Both phones are listed with a 50MP main rear camera, but megapixels alone do not establish image quality. The realme listing also includes a 2MP monochrome camera; TECNO’s official specification lists a 50MP autofocus rear camera. The front camera figures favor realme on resolution, at 16MP versus TECNO’s 13MP, but that is not enough to predict which produces better selfies.

Battery life and charging
Both models are listed with an 8,000mAh battery and 45W charging. The charging labels differ—realme calls its system SuperVOOC and TECNO calls its Super Charge—but the shared capacity and wattage do not establish equal charging times or battery life.
Android Central’s reviewer said their POVA 8 5G unit lasted two days. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a guaranteed runtime or a controlled comparison with the realme.

Price difference and regional availability
For India, 91mobiles lists the TECNO at ₹29,999, but its realme figure is inconsistent: the opened comparison page shows ₹29,999 while a search result shows ₹27,999. These volatile listing figures do not support a definitive price gap or a stable manufacturer-recommended price. Check current India listings on the day you buy and compare the same RAM and storage configuration, seller and warranty terms.
TECNO’s Indonesian product page lists 128GB and 256GB storage options and multiple memory configurations. Its Saudi Arabia product page also identifies the POVA 8 5G. Those regional pages do not establish which variants are available in India or another country. Confirm the exact local model and configuration before comparing prices. The realme release date of 27 May 2026 and TECNO release date of 17 June 2026 are reported by 91mobiles, not verified here through official realme announcements.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the TECNO POVA 8 5G on paper if you value its listed FHD+ resolution, Dimensity 7100 chipset, or the rear Active Matrix feature. Android Central says that feature can display notifications, charging status, music waveforms and the time, with customization available. Its reviewer described everyday performance as adequate but not flagship-level; that is an individual review assessment, not a comparative test.
- Consider the realme 16T 5G if its slightly larger display or higher listed selfie-camera resolution better suits your preferences. The available evidence does not include an equivalent hands-on review of the realme, so its camera and real-world performance cannot be directly judged against TECNO’s review observations.
- Let the exact local price and variant decide if neither specification difference is decisive. Compare the same RAM and storage capacity, and verify regional availability rather than assuming a configuration listed in Indonesia or Saudi Arabia is sold in your market.
