The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G has the better-documented spec sheet, because TECNO publishes its own specifications. The realme 16 figures come from a third-party comparison listing and have not been checked against realme’s own materials. On the listed prices, the POVA 8 Pro costs ₹5,000 more than the realme 16, but that listing is undated and does not confirm the market, seller, or whether the two configurations match. Treat the gap as a starting point for checking local prices, not as a current price. On the evidence available, there is no defensible overall winner.
Side-by-side specifications
The table below separates the two sources. TECNO’s column comes from the company’s official POVA 8 Pro 5G specification page. The realme column comes from a Gadgets Now comparison listing, so treat it as reported data. “Not stated” means the source I checked does not give that detail. It does not mean the phone lacks the feature.

What TECNO’s official specifications establish
TECNO’s page is the only primary source in this comparison, so it carries the most weight. It is still a list of manufacturer claims. It shows what the company advertises, not how the phone performs in use.

Display
The POVA 8 Pro’s clearest advertised advantage is its high-refresh AMOLED panel. A 144Hz maximum refresh rate matters most for scrolling, gaming, and animations, and it is one of the features the realme listing does not mention. The brightness figures are also manufacturer claims. The 4500-nit peak is a short-duration value, so it should not be read as everyday outdoor brightness.
#1 Best Overall
- 6.78 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 6.78 inches
- 256GB Storage, 8GB RAM
- Android 16, Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Max (4 nm), Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Max (4 nm)
- Rear: 200 MP, f/1.9, 23mm (wide), 1/1.56", 0.5µm, dual-pixel PDAF, OIS, 8 MP, 112˚, (ultrawide), 1/4.0", 1.12µm, Front: 50 MP, f/2.4, 23mm (wide), 1/2.88", 0.61µm
Memory and extended RAM
TECNO lists three storage and memory combinations. Each one includes “extended RAM,” which is virtual memory borrowed from storage. It is not the same as physical RAM. A phone with 12GB physical RAM plus 12GB extended RAM will not multitask like a phone with 24GB of physical RAM. When comparing, use the physical RAM figure as the baseline and count extended RAM as a secondary feature.
Cameras
The POVA 8 Pro’s main sensor has optical image stabilisation, and it adds an ultra-wide lens. The realme listing reports a 2MP secondary rear camera, which the source does not describe further. Without independent camera samples, neither phone’s real-world photo quality can be ranked from these figures.
Rank #2
- 6.78 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 6.78 inches
- 256GB Storage, 8GB RAM
- Android 16, Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Max (4 nm), Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Max (4 nm)

Battery and charging
The POVA 8 Pro’s 45W charging is the lower of the two charging figures in the table, and its 6500mAh battery is the smaller of the two batteries. Battery life depends on screen settings, software, and usage, so the capacity numbers alone do not show which phone lasts longer.
What is reported about the realme 16
All realme 16 details in this comparison come from a Gadgets Now listing. Gadgets Now is a secondary publisher, and no realme product page was checked. The listing’s most useful details are the 256GB/12GB configuration, the 7000mAh battery, the 60W charging, and the Dimensity 6400 Turbo processor. Those are the figures to verify first on realme’s official site before treating them as settled.
Rank #3

- 512GB Storage, 16GB RAM
- Android 16, Qualcomm SM8850-AC Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (3 nm), Octa-core (2x4.6 GHz Oryon V3 Phoenix L + 6x3.62 GHz Oryon V3 Phoenix M)

- 161.8 x 76.9 x 8.2 mm (6.37 x 3.03 x 0.32 in)
Software update promise
The listing says realme will provide three years of OS updates and four years of security updates. That is a notable claim, but it is only what the listing says. The POVA 8 Pro’s official page does not state an update promise, so neither phone’s software support can be confirmed from the sources checked.
Do not confuse the POVA 8 Pro with the POVA 8
A separate Gadgets 360 comparison pits the base TECNO Pova 8, not the Pro, against the realme 16. That comparison lists a different processor (Dimensity 7100), an 8000mAh battery, and a 6.76-inch screen. Those figures belong to the base Pova 8 and should not be used to describe the POVA 8 Pro. Check the model name on the box or the product page before comparing numbers.

The price difference, and why it is not a current price
The Gadgets Now listing shows ₹41,999 for the realme 16 256GB/12GB and ₹46,999 for the TECNO POVA 8 Pro. The gap is ₹5,000, and the POVA 8 Pro’s figure is about 12% higher than the realme’s. That arithmetic is accurate for the numbers in the listing. It does not establish what either phone costs today.
Quick Recap
What the listing does not establish
- Date: The listing does not show when the prices were recorded.
- Market: It does not name the country or retailer.
- Variant basis: It names a storage and RAM figure for the realme only. The POVA 8 Pro’s configuration is not stated, so the two prices may not be for equivalent phones.
- Offers: Bank discounts, launch offers, and stock-clearance pricing are not addressed.
How to check the price before buying
- Note the date and the country you are shopping in.
- Open TECNO’s and realme’s official online stores for your market, then the major retailers in your area.
- Match storage and RAM exactly. For the POVA 8 Pro, compare the 256GB/12GB version with the realme’s 256GB/12GB version, and record any extended-RAM differences separately.
- Record the seller, the price shown before and after any offers, and whether the phone is in stock.
- Write the gap in the same currency using prices from the same day. Only that number tells you the real difference.
Trade-offs in plain terms
- Screen: The POVA 8 Pro’s advertised 144Hz panel is the clearest display advantage. The realme listing does not state a refresh rate, so this difference cannot be measured from these sources.
- Battery and charging: The realme 16 is reported to have the larger battery and faster charging. Whether that translates into a longer day depends on independent testing.
- Cameras: The POVA 8 Pro has an ultra-wide lens and a 13MP front camera. Neither front camera figure for the realme is available in these sources.
- Memory: The POVA 8 Pro offers more configurations, including a 512GB option. The realme listing shows only one.
What remains unverified
- Hands-on performance, battery life, display quality, and camera results for either phone.
- Realme’s official confirmation of the 16’s specifications and update promises.
- Software support commitments from TECNO for the POVA 8 Pro.
- Network band support for your carrier in your country.
How to choose
- Choose the POVA 8 Pro if the advertised 144Hz display, ultra-wide camera, or the 512GB option matters more to you than the battery and charging figures.
- Choose the realme 16 if its reported battery and charging figures, and its listed update commitments, are the priorities, once realme’s official specifications confirm them.
- Do not decide on price alone until you have checked the same-day local prices for matching configurations.
