For context, Gadgets 360 reported the 16x 5G’s India launch prices on 12 August 2026 as ₹25,999 for 4 GB + 128 GB, ₹27,999 for 6 GB + 128 GB, and ₹30,999 for 6 GB + 256 GB. The report described a launch discount or exchange offer and said sales would begin on 13 August through realme India and Flipkart. Those launch figures and offers should not be mistaken for current prices or assumed to remain available.
Which phone has the better display?
The realme 16 is the better fit if resolution, panel type and detail matter most: its 6.57-inch Flexible AMOLED panel is listed at FHD+ resolution (1080 × 2372) and 120 Hz. The 16x 5G gives you a larger 6.8-inch screen and a higher stated 144 Hz refresh rate, but it uses an LCD panel at HD+ resolution (720 × 1570).

In practical terms, the 16 prioritizes a denser image and AMOLED technology, while the 16x prioritizes screen size and refresh-rate specification. A higher refresh-rate number alone does not establish that the 16x will look sharper or that every app will use its maximum rate.
Which is faster for everyday use?
The 16 pairs a Dimensity 6400 Turbo with listed RAM options of 8 GB and 12 GB; the 16x 5G lists a Dimensity 6300 and 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM. Those configurations make the 16 the stronger specification choice for buyers who want more listed memory, but the chipset names alone do not settle real-world speed.

- 161.8 x 76.9 x 8.2 mm (6.37 x 3.03 x 0.32 in)
In 91mobiles’ benchmark snapshot reviewed on 7 October 2026, the realme 16 scored 611,679 in AnTuTu and the 16x 5G scored 632,291. These are one outlet’s test results, not universal performance guarantees; the slightly higher 16x result also cautions against assuming the 16 is faster in every workload based solely on its chipset label. Compare the RAM variant you intend to buy, since the phones’ listed configurations differ.
Do the cameras make a meaningful difference?
Both phones list a 50 MP main rear camera, but that shared resolution does not establish equal image quality. The comparison listing also includes a 2 MP monochrome camera on the realme 16, while it lists a single 50 MP rear camera for the 16x 5G.

The more obvious specification gap is on the front: the realme 16 lists a 50 MP selfie camera, compared with 8 MP on the 16x 5G. That gives the 16 the higher-resolution selfie-camera specification, not a proven image-quality advantage; no controlled, same-condition comparison is established here.

Both models are listed with 7,000 mAh batteries. The realme 16 is listed with 60 W charging, compared with 45 W for the 16x 5G, so its stated charging wattage is higher. Capacity and wattage specifications do not by themselves establish actual runtime or charging time.
91mobiles reports a PCMark battery result of 14 hours 38 minutes for the realme 16, but provides no corresponding result for the 16x 5G. That is not a matched test and cannot establish which phone lasts longer. The same comparison page lists Android 16 and 3 years of OS updates plus 4 years of security updates for the realme 16, versus Android 16 and 2 years of OS updates plus 3 years of security updates for the 16x 5G; verify those terms with realme.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the realme 16 if you prioritize an FHD+ AMOLED display, a 50 MP front-camera specification, higher listed RAM options, 60 W charging or the longer support period reported by 91mobiles—and are comfortable with the higher India price snapshot.
- Choose the realme 16x 5G if a larger screen, a 144 Hz refresh-rate specification and a lower displayed price matter more to you. Its listed 50 MP main camera and 7,000 mAh battery match the headline figures for the 16, but it has lower listed RAM options, a lower-resolution LCD and an 8 MP selfie camera.
Prices and configurations can vary by market and listing. The figures here are India-specific; do not assume they apply in other countries.
