Choose the Realme 16 if battery capacity is your priority; choose the Motorola Edge 70 if you want a slimmer, lighter phone with a more capable listed chipset and a second useful rear camera. Neither is a safe “around ₹30,000” buy at every current listing: dated price observations put both above that mark, so check the exact variant, seller, stock and price before deciding.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Realme 16 for battery capacity
Realme lists a 7,000mAh typical battery (6,830mAh rated) and 60W charging. That is a sizeable capacity advantage over the 5,000mAh Motorola figure reported by 91mobiles, making the Realme the clearer specification-led choice if you often spend long stretches away from a charger.

Choose the Motorola Edge 70 for portability
At 159g and 5.99mm, the Edge 70 is notably thinner and lighter than the Realme 16 at 183g and 8.1mm. If pocketability or a less bulky feel matters more than having the larger stated battery, Motorola has the stronger case.
Choose Motorola for the listed chipset and rear-camera flexibility
The comparison lists a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in the Edge 70 and a Dimensity 6400 Turbo in the Realme 16, making Motorola the stronger listed processing hardware. The same 91mobiles comparison reports AnTuTu scores of 1,402,932 for Motorola and 611,679 for Realme in 2026. These are source-reported benchmark results, not tests conducted for this article, and benchmarks do not guarantee equivalent differences in every app or daily task.

Motorola also pairs a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and a 50MP ultra-wide/macro camera. Realme’s listed rear setup is a 50MP main camera plus a 2MP monochrome sensor. The Motorola configuration offers more focal-length flexibility on paper; specifications alone do not establish which phone takes better photos. Both are listed with 50MP front cameras, which likewise does not prove equal selfie quality.
Is either one really around ₹30,000?
That depends on the date, memory configuration, retailer and offer. The comparison source reports April 2026 launch-period prices of ₹29,999 for the Edge 70 (8GB/256GB) and ₹31,999 to ₹36,999 for Realme 16 variants. Later surfaced observations were ₹31,740 for Motorola on Amazon India on 1 October 2026 and ₹36,490 for Realme in the 91mobiles comparison panel. These dated listings are not guarantees of current price, stock, seller or variant.

If ₹30,000 is a hard ceiling, check live offers before choosing and compare like-for-like storage configurations. The available price observations do not support calling either phone definitively the best buy under ₹30,000 today. Motorola’s official India catalog result did not establish a current Edge 70 listing, so verify the precise regional model and seller rather than assuming an offer is official.

The 91mobiles comparison reports IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD durability for Motorola, and IP66/IP68/IP69 for Realme. These ratings and claims may help distinguish the models on paper, but they are not independent durability-test results and should not be read as a guarantee against damage in every situation.

The same comparison lists Android 16 with Hello UI for Motorola and Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0 for Realme, and reports three years of OS upgrades plus four years of security updates for each. Treat those update periods as comparison-source claims and confirm the applicable India policy for the exact model before purchase.
