There is no single region-independent winner: the realme 16 specifications here are for India, while Motorola lists different Edge 70 Fusion hardware in Japan and US support material. In the India price snapshot cited below, the Motorola was ₹4,500 cheaper, while the Japanese listing shows a larger, faster display and higher charging power. First match the regional model, storage tier, warranty and network bands; otherwise, the comparison may not describe the phones you can actually buy.

The realme column below follows realme’s official India specification page. Motorola’s figures are separated by region because its Japan product page and US support page list different chipsets and other details. Motorola also cautions that specifications may vary by market.

Which phone has the better screen and cameras?
Display: Motorola’s Japan model has the listed size and refresh-rate advantage
Motorola Japan specifies an approximately 6.78-inch panel with a maximum 144 Hz refresh rate. The realme India model has a smaller 6.57-inch screen rated up to 120 Hz. Those numbers favor the Japanese Motorola on screen size and maximum refresh rate, but they do not establish brightness, color accuracy or overall display quality.

Rear cameras: Motorola Japan lists more shooting options
The Japanese Edge 70 Fusion page lists a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 710 main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), plus a 13 MP ultra-wide/macro camera. realme India lists a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP monochrome camera. The Motorola’s listed ultra-wide/macro unit offers a different type of framing than realme’s monochrome sensor; specifications alone do not establish which phone takes better photos.
Selfies: realme lists more megapixels, not a guaranteed better result
realme specifies a 50 MP front camera, while Motorola’s US support page lists 32 MP. These are figures from different regional sources, and megapixel count alone does not determine selfie quality.

How do the batteries and charging compare?
All cited variants are listed in the 7,000 mAh class. realme gives both a typical capacity of 7,000 mAh and a rated capacity of 6,830 mAh, with 60 W charging. Motorola’s Japan listing and US support page give 7,000 mAh and 68 W. The rated charging wattage and capacity do not establish actual battery life or charging time, which can vary with use and conditions.
realme also says its internal lab testing found at least 80% battery capacity after 1,600 full charge cycles, which it equates to approximately six years under its modeled usage. This is a manufacturer test claim, not an independently verified lifespan guarantee. realme’s product page

A 91mobiles comparison listing accessed October 7, 2026 showed the realme 16 at ₹35,499 via Amazon India and the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion at ₹30,999 via Flipkart—a displayed ₹4,500 difference, with realme higher. For Japan, Motorola’s official listing gives ¥79,800 including tax and a planned release date of October 23, 2026 for its Japanese configuration. Before treating either price as a buying recommendation, match the storage tier and check current stock, bank offers, exchange discounts, warranty coverage, supported network bands and the final checkout total.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose based on the India realme configuration if its listed 50 MP front camera, storage-card support or available memory/storage tier fits your needs. Confirm that the exact India model and warranty apply to the seller’s offer.
- Consider the Japanese Edge 70 Fusion configuration if you want the larger, up-to-144 Hz display, listed stabilized main camera with an ultra-wide/macro camera, or 68 W charging—and can buy the Japan model with suitable warranty and network support.
- Do not use the US support chipset as a universal specification. Motorola lists Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 in its US support material but Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 for Japan. Confirm the chipset and other specifications for the exact market model before buying.
- For a price-led decision in India, compare like with like. The cited ₹4,500 gap is only a snapshot across two retailers; check the same RAM/storage tier and checkout terms before deciding that one is cheaper.
