On the specifications each manufacturer lists for India, the iQOO 15R has the stronger chipset, a larger typical battery and a higher maximum wired charging rating. The realme 16 Pro+ 5G has the more elaborate rear camera setup and the larger display. Those listings do not show which phone performs better in daily use, and a firm price gap cannot be stated, because prices vary by seller, storage variant and offer.
Specifications side by side
The table below uses the values printed on realme India’s specification page for the 16 Pro+ 5G and on iQOO India’s parameter page for the 15R. Where the two iQOO pages disagree, both values are shown.
| Specification | realme 16 Pro+ 5G | iQOO 15R |
|---|---|---|
| Chipset | Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 | Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 |
| RAM | 8 GB or 12 GB | 8 GB or 12 GB |
| Storage | 128 GB or 256 GB | 256 GB or 512 GB |
| Display size and type | 17.27 cm (about 6.8 inches), AMOLED | 6.59 inches, AMOLED |
| Display resolution | 1280 × 2800 pixels (the page labels the panel FHD+) | 2750 × 1260 pixels |
| Refresh rate | Up to 144 Hz | 130 Hz normal-scene touch refresh on the parameter page; 1.5K and 144 Hz on the product overview |
| Rear cameras | 200 MP wide with OIS; 50 MP telephoto with OIS; 8 MP ultra-wide | 50 MP main (Sony LYT-700V with OIS, per the overview); 8 MP ultra-wide; no telephoto listed |
| Front camera | 50 MP | 50 MP on the parameter page |
| Typical battery capacity | 7000 mAh | 7600 mAh |
| Maximum wired charging | 80 W | 100 W |
What the performance gap means
The 15R’s chipset is the largest specification difference. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is the higher-tier platform by manufacturer positioning, and it is what iQOO lists for the 15R. The 16 Pro+ uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. A higher tier suggests more headroom for demanding games and heavy multitasking, but a chip name is not a benchmark. Sustained frame rates, thermal throttling and real app behaviour depend on cooling, software and the games or apps being run. No independent benchmark or sustained-load test is established for either phone here, so this article does not claim that the 15R is faster in practice.
Both phones list identical RAM options, 8 GB or 12 GB, so memory does not separate them. Storage does: the 15R starts at 256 GB, while the 16 Pro+ starts at 128 GB.

Cameras: more lenses on the realme, not a proven quality advantage
The realme 16 Pro+ lists three rear cameras with a 200 MP main sensor, a 50 MP telephoto lens and an 8 MP ultra-wide. Both main and telephoto are stabilised with OIS. The iQOO 15R lists a 50 MP main camera with OIS and an 8 MP ultra-wide, with no telephoto on its parameter page. The two front cameras are both listed at 50 MP on the official pages, though a third-party comparison showed 32 MP for the 15R’s front camera (see the discrepancies below).
The practical difference is focal-length coverage. The realme gives you a dedicated telephoto lens, which iQOO’s listing does not show. Megapixel counts, however, do not establish image quality. Pixel binning, sensor size, processing and lens quality all affect results, and no side-by-side image comparison from independent testers is established for either phone in this article. Judge the camera by sample photos taken in your own usual conditions before deciding.

Battery and charging: ratings, not endurance
The 15R’s typical battery is listed at 7600 mAh against 7000 mAh for the 16 Pro+. Its maximum wired charging is listed at 100 W against 80 W. These are manufacturer ratings. A larger capacity does not guarantee longer use, because screen size, refresh rate, chipset efficiency and usage all matter. A higher wattage rating does not guarantee a shorter charge time either, since the charger you use, the cable, and the battery’s temperature and state of charge all change the actual speed. Neither listing gives endurance or charge-time figures.

Display: larger panel on the realme, smoother refresh figures on the iQOO
The 16 Pro+ has the larger display at 17.27 cm, roughly 6.8 inches, against 6.59 inches for the 15R. Its listed resolution of 1280 × 2800 is lower in pixel count than the 15R’s 2750 × 1260 would suggest, and the page’s FHD+ label does not match those pixel numbers, so check the figures on the phone’s own settings screen before relying on them. Both phones are listed with AMOLED panels. Peak brightness, colour accuracy and panel quality are not established by the manufacturer listings here.

Where the official listings disagree
iQOO 15R refresh rate
iQOO’s parameter page lists a 130 Hz refresh rate for normal-scene touch, while its product overview advertises a 1.5K display at 144 Hz. The difference most likely reflects how the page describes modes or scenarios, not two different panels, but the regional documentation does not spell out a single universal figure. If refresh rate is a deciding factor, read the display settings on a unit in a store and confirm the maximum rate there.
iQOO 15R front camera
The official parameter page lists a 50 MP front camera. A third-party comparison (Gadgets Now) showed 32 MP. The official page is the more reliable source, but the discrepancy is worth checking if selfie quality is important to you.

Price difference: what can and cannot be said
A Gadgets Now comparison page showed approximately ₹50,499 for the realme 16 Pro+ and ₹53,999 for the iQOO 15R in one rendering. Other search-result renderings showed different numbers. These are not manufacturer prices and may reflect list prices, offer prices, variant differences or page updates at different times. For these reasons, this article does not calculate a current price gap.

1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhen you check prices, compare the same variant and date:
- Match RAM and storage exactly. The 16 Pro+ 128 GB and 256 GB versions and the 15R 256 GB and 512 GB versions are priced differently.
- Separate list price from offer price. The price shown on a product page is not always the amount you pay.
- Note bank and exchange discounts separately. They can apply to some cards, some old devices or some payment methods only, and they are often time-limited.
- Record the seller and the date. The same phone can show different prices on different sellers, and prices change frequently.
Which phone fits which buyer
- Choose the iQOO 15R if you put the highest weight on the chipset tier, the larger battery rating, the 100 W charging rating, or 512 GB storage.
- Choose the realme 16 Pro+ 5G if you want a dedicated telephoto lens with stabilisation, a larger screen, or the option of a lower storage tier at a lower starting price.
- Check both phones in a shop if display refresh behaviour, camera output or gaming performance will drive your decision, since the listings alone cannot settle those points.
The listed hardware suggests the iQOO 15R is the stronger platform on paper and the realme 16 Pro+ is the more versatile camera system and larger screen. Which of those matters more depends on how you use the phone.
