The realme 16 Pro+ 5G and Xiaomi REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G differ most clearly in their published battery specifications: realme lists a 7,000mAh battery and up to 80W charging, while Xiaomi lists a 10,000mAh battery and 100W charging on its global and India pages. Those figures are market-specific manufacturer specifications, not independent battery-life results. Prices also need a same-country comparison: a Spain report lists two REDMI prices, but the available evidence does not establish a contemporaneous Spanish price for the realme. Here is what the published specifications do—and do not—show.

Battery and charging: the REDMI has higher listed figures
realme lists a 7,000mAh typical equivalent battery capacity and maximum 80W charging for the 16 Pro+ 5G on its Europe specifications page and India specifications page. Xiaomi’s global specification page lists a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and 100W HyperCharge; its India page lists 10,000mAh typical capacity, 100W charging, and 27W wired reverse charging.
These figures describe what the manufacturers publish for their respective markets. They do not establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use: battery life also depends on display settings, network conditions, software, workload, and testing method. A 2026-08-28 launch report describes regional differences among Redmi variants, and Xiaomi’s UK listing gives a different 9,210mAh capacity. Check the official page for the exact country and model you intend to buy rather than treating one market’s figure as universal. The launch report is available from Cinco Días / Smartlife.

Xiaomi lists the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G with a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate. The cited realme specifications do not establish comparable display details, so the available evidence cannot support a complete screen-versus-screen judgment. If display size or resolution is decisive, compare the specification page for the specific regional realme model before buying.

Processor and performance: one listed chip is not a benchmark result
realme identifies the 16 Pro+ 5G’s processor as Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 on its Europe page. The cited Xiaomi specifications do not establish the REDMI’s processor, and no independent head-to-head benchmark or performance test is available here. The processor name alone therefore cannot show which handset is faster in games, apps, or sustained workloads.
eSIM support depends on where you buy the realme
realme’s Europe specifications say the 16 Pro+ 5G supports eSIM on EU models, with availability dependent on carrier support. Its India page says eSIM is unsupported. This is a meaningful distinction if you use a travel eSIM or need a digital second line: check both the phone’s sales region and your carrier’s compatibility before purchase. The cited Xiaomi pages do not establish REDMI eSIM support, so it should not be assumed either way.

The available sources do not establish a realme 16 Pro+ 5G price for Spain on the same date. As a result, there is no supported direct Spain price difference to calculate. Compare current prices for the same country, date, and RAM/storage configuration; otherwise the apparent gap may reflect different markets or memory tiers rather than a like-for-like comparison.

What the published evidence does not settle
The available specifications and Spain pricing do not establish a full buying verdict. In particular, they do not provide a same-market realme price, independent battery-life or performance results, comparable camera tests, the complete storage and RAM range in each market, matching network-band information, or a verified comparison of in-box accessories and warranty terms. Check those details against the exact regional listings and retailer terms before choosing.
