The realme 15 5G offers faster maximum refresh rate and much faster charging (80W against 44W). The vivo S2 5G has a slightly larger display and a slightly higher typical battery rating. On the price snapshot we reviewed, the vivo S2 5G cost ₹8,000 more (₹37,999 against ₹29,999). The spec sheets settle what each phone is built with, but they do not show which one lasts longer in daily use or takes better photos. Those questions need independent testing.

Display: smoother motion or a larger panel
The realme 15 5G wins on refresh rate. Its 144Hz maximum is 24Hz higher than the vivo S2 5G’s 120Hz. The vivo panel is marginally larger (6.83 inches against 6.8 inches) and is an AMOLED panel. The realme page describes its screen type only as a 6.8-inch display, so this article makes no claim about panel technology for the realme 15 5G.

A higher maximum refresh rate matters only when apps and games actually run at that rate. Maximum figures tell you the ceiling, not how often a phone holds it.
Battery and charging
The vivo S2 5G has the slightly higher typical battery rating: 7050mAh against the realme’s 7000mAh typical. The realme’s minimum rating is 6830mAh, so the gap between the two is small in both directions.
Charging is the clearer difference. The realme 15 5G is listed at 80W, and the vivo S2 5G at 44W. Charging speed is a rated maximum and depends on the adapter and cable used. Neither manufacturer’s page establishes how long a full charge takes in practice or how much battery life either phone delivers.

Both phones use 4nm MediaTek chips. The realme 15 5G uses the Dimensity 7300+ and the vivo S2 5G uses the Dimensity 7360-Turbo. The vivo listing gives core-level detail (2.5GHz performance cores and 2.0GHz efficiency cores), while the realme listing gives only the maximum clock of up to 2.5GHz.
A chip name is not a performance result. Sustained gaming, thermal throttling and app speed depend on the rest of the phone too, and these reviewed sources do not test them.
Cameras
The realme 15 5G’s main camera is the more fully documented of the two. It uses a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor with optical image stabilisation, supported by an 8MP wide-angle lens, and its front camera is 50MP. The vivo S2 5G is listed with a 50MP primary rear camera and a 32MP front camera in the comparison page. The complete rear camera setup for the vivo was not confirmed from the official listing, so check the vivo India product page before comparing camera hardware in detail.
Megapixel counts do not predict photo quality. Sensor size, lens design, processing and low-light results are what separate the two, and none of them are measured in the sources reviewed.

The realme 15 5G is offered with 8GB or 12GB RAM, which gives buyers a choice the vivo S2 5G does not offer on its India page (8GB only). Both phones are offered with 128GB or 256GB storage. The realme’s software is realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15. The vivo page did not state the operating system in the excerpt reviewed.
Price difference
The 91mobiles comparison page showed ₹29,999 for the realme 15 and ₹37,999 for the vivo S2 5G when it was reviewed. That is an ₹8,000 gap in the vivo’s favour, which is the reverse of what most buyers would expect given the vivo’s lower charging rating. The page does not state the storage variant, RAM configuration, seller or date behind each price, so the gap may not reflect like-for-like models.
Before you act on any price, check the exact model, RAM and storage combination, the seller, the warranty terms and the current price. Prices in India move often, and a comparison page is a snapshot.

- Battery endurance: Typical and minimum capacity ratings do not show how long either phone lasts under your use.
- Camera quality: Sensor and lens listings do not show colour, detail or low-light performance.
- Sustained performance: Chip names and clock speeds do not show heat behaviour during long gaming or heavy multitasking.
- Regional differences: These are India pages. Network bands, warranty terms and pricing can differ in other countries.
How to choose between them
- Choose the realme 15 5G if charging speed, the higher refresh rate and a choice of 12GB RAM matter most, and if the lower price in the snapshot fits your budget.
- Choose the vivo S2 5G if you want the slightly larger AMOLED display and a higher typical battery rating, and can pay the higher price shown.
- Compare the same RAM and storage combination on the same retailer page before deciding. Price gaps between different configurations are not a fair comparison.
- If camera or battery life is decisive for you, read independent reviews that test those areas directly. The manufacturer sheets do not settle them.
Verify before you buy
- Open the realme India page for the realme 15 5G and the vivo India page for the S2, and confirm the model name matches the listing you are considering.
- Confirm the RAM and storage combination you want is offered by the seller.
- Check the warranty terms, the included accessories (realme states an adapter is included) and the return policy with the seller.
- Check the current price on the seller’s page on the day you buy.
Accessories such as cases, screen protectors and chargers are only worth buying once you have confirmed they fit the exact model you own.
