The realme 15 Pro 5G has the larger, faster-refreshing screen and the higher stated battery capacity. The OPPO Reno16 5G has the one clearly specified optical telephoto lens of the two. Both use the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 platform, so the chip does not separate them. The price gap is the least reliable part of the comparison: OPPO’s official India price for the Reno16 is ₹66,999, but the ₹33,999 shown for the realme 15 Pro comes from a third-party snapshot that does not confirm the same storage configuration, so the ₹33,000 difference is not a confirmed saving.

Chipset: same platform, different phones
Both manufacturers name the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. A shared platform name tells you little about daily speed, because phones built on the same chip can differ in cooling, memory configuration, software and thermal tuning. The sources reviewed contain no independent speed, gaming or thermal measurements for this pair, so any performance ranking would be an assumption. The comparison site publishes benchmark scores, but it does not describe its test method, device settings or repeat runs, so those numbers are not a reliable basis for declaring a winner.

Display: the realme is larger and smoother on paper
The realme 15 Pro’s advertised 6.8-inch screen is roughly half an inch larger than the Reno16’s, and its 144Hz maximum refresh rate is higher than OPPO’s 120Hz. A higher refresh rate makes motion look smoother when content supports it, but it does not improve brightness, colour accuracy or battery use by itself. The Reno16 uses an AMOLED panel at FHD+ resolution. The realme’s 2800×1280 resolution is also advertised, so the two screens cannot be judged on pixel counts alone. Measured brightness, outdoor legibility and colour accuracy are not established by the sources reviewed, so these are areas to check in hands-on reviews before buying.
Cameras: the Reno16 has the specified telephoto lens
The two camera systems are organised differently. realme advertises three 50MP cameras and says every lens records 4K at 60fps. OPPO lists three 50MP lenses with a specific role for each: a wide camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 116° ultra-wide, and a telephoto with OIS and 3.5x optical zoom. The telephoto is the most concrete difference in the camera specifications. If you regularly shoot portraits at a longer focal length or want optical zoom rather than digital cropping, the Reno16’s listed hardware is the one that matches that use.
Megapixel counts do not establish image quality. Sensor size, pixel binning, lens quality and image processing all affect results, and the sources reviewed contain no controlled side-by-side photo or video tests. The two phones’ front cameras are both listed at 50MP, so there is no specification-based difference there.

realme advertises a 7000mAh battery, which is higher than OPPO’s 6700mAh typical and 6490mAh rated figures. OPPO’s two values reflect different measurement bases, and the typical figure is the one to compare against the realme’s advertised capacity. Both phones list 80W wired charging, realme as 80W Ultra Charge and OPPO as 80W SUPERVOOC. Charging speed claims describe the charger output under the manufacturer’s conditions; actual charging time depends on the cable, adapter and battery temperature. The specifications do not establish how long either phone lasts in real use. Battery life depends on screen refresh behaviour, network signal, and software, and none of those tests appear in the sources reviewed.
Memory and storage: match the configuration before you compare prices
OPPO’s India listing has two configurations for the Reno16 5G:
- 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, priced at ₹66,999
- 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, priced at ₹72,999
Both use LPDDR5X memory and UFS 3.1 storage, and the phone does not accept a microSD card, so 256GB is the most you can get.
The realme 15 Pro’s official page cited here does not state its RAM and storage options. The 91mobiles comparison summary lists 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, which would be half the Reno16’s base storage. That summary is the only source for this detail, so confirm the exact variant on the realme product page or a retailer listing before drawing any conclusion about storage.

OPPO’s official India page is the most reliable price source here. It lists ₹66,999 for the 8GB+256GB Reno16 and ₹72,999 for the 12GB+256GB version, dated 31 August 2026, and it says prices are subject to change.
The 91mobiles snapshot, crawled on 7 October 2026, shows ₹33,999 for the realme 15 Pro and ₹66,999 for the Reno16, which is the displayed ₹33,000 gap. That gap is not a like-for-like comparison. The Reno16 figure matches OPPO’s 8GB+256GB price, but the realme configuration behind ₹33,999 is not confirmed, and retailer prices move often, sometimes with bank offers or stock-clearance discounts that are not reflected in a snapshot. Treat the snapshot as a rough indication that the realme is positioned at a lower price, not as a measured saving.
To compare the real price difference:
- Open the realme 15 Pro 5G page on the realme India website and note the exact RAM and storage variant and its listed price.
- Find the same RAM and storage combination for the Reno16 on the OPPO India Reno16 details page, checking the model is CPH2865.
- Compare the two prices on the same day, including any offers that apply to each.
- If the realme variant is 8GB+128GB and the Reno16 is 8GB+256GB, the difference reflects different storage, not only different phones.
The Reno16c 5G is a separate India model (CPH2859). Its specifications and price are not interchangeable with the Reno16 5G, and OPPO notes that Reno16 variants sold in other countries can differ in specifications and price.
Which phone fits which buyer
- Choose the realme 15 Pro 5G if you want the larger, higher-refresh screen and the higher advertised battery capacity, and you have confirmed that its storage matches your needs.
- Choose the OPPO Reno16 5G if you want the dedicated 3.5x optical telephoto, storage of 256GB in either configuration, or the 12GB RAM option.
- Do not decide on price alone until both phones are compared at the same RAM and storage level on the same day.
What this comparison cannot tell you
The sources reviewed rely on manufacturer specifications, a secondary comparison site and a dated price snapshot. They do not include independent tests of camera image quality, battery endurance, display brightness or sustained performance for these two exact phones. Specification differences are real and useful for shortlisting, but a final choice between the two should be based on hands-on reviews and current prices from official stores or retailers.
