The OnePlus 15 lasted the longest in Tom’s Guide’s cited 2026 comparison: 25 hours 13 minutes of continuous 5G web surfing at 150 nits. The iPhone 18 Pro Max reached 18 hours 27 minutes, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra ran for 16 hours 40 minutes in standard display mode. These are controlled-test results, not a promise of how long each phone will last in your own daily use.
Which 2026 flagship had the longest battery life?
In Tom’s Guide’s continuous 5G web-surfing test, the OnePlus 15 came first at 25 hours 13 minutes. The iPhone 18 Pro Max followed at 18 hours 27 minutes. The Galaxy S26 Ultra recorded 16 hours 40 minutes in standard display mode; Tom’s Guide’s earlier comparison listed 16 hours 10 minutes with adaptive display enabled. The test conditions and Samsung display setting matter when comparing those figures.
| Phone | Tom’s Guide result | Test detail |
|---|---|---|
| OnePlus 15 | 25 hours 13 minutes | Continuous 5G web surfing at 150 nits. Tom’s Guide |
| iPhone 18 Pro Max | 18 hours 27 minutes | Average in the same described 5G web-surfing protocol. Tom’s Guide |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra | 16 hours 40 minutes | Standard display mode; 16 hours 10 minutes in adaptive mode in the earlier comparison. Tom’s Guide |
| iPhone 18 Pro | 16 hours 17 minutes | Same described protocol. Tom’s Guide |
| iPhone 17 Pro Max | 17 hours 54 minutes | Same described protocol. Tom’s Guide |
Tom’s Guide also reported 15 hours 21 minutes for the iPhone 17 Pro, 14 hours 27 minutes for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and 14 hours 20 minutes for the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. The publication notes that its Galaxy S25 Ultra comparison used a newer version of the test after several months of use, so that result may be lower than the phone would have achieved when new. Tom’s Guide’s comparison and later iPhone comparison report the results and protocol.

What the battery test measures—and what it does not
Tom’s Guide describes a continuous web-surfing test over 5G with screen brightness fixed at 150 nits. That makes the results useful for comparing phones under one repeatable workload. It does not reproduce every person’s day: gaming, video, camera use, navigation, calls, background activity, mobile signal quality, and display settings can all change runtime.

Apple publishes a separate battery-test description for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. Its August 2026 testing used preproduction phones and software, LTE and 5G networks, and a representative profile based on median iPhone-user activity across passive and active applications. Apple says: “Battery life varies by use, configuration, cellular network, signal strength and other factors; actual results may vary based on usage.” That manufacturer test offers context about Apple’s own methodology, but it is not a like-for-like comparison across brands. How other test results fit in
Different testing methods can provide useful context, but their runtimes should not be merged into one ranking unless the workloads and conditions match.

PhoneArena separates workloads
PhoneArena reports estimated battery life as well as separate browsing, video, and gaming measures. Those distinct workloads are not interchangeable with Tom’s Guide’s single continuous web-surfing result. Compare phones within the same PhoneArena measure rather than treating those figures as another entry in Tom’s Guide’s ranking. PhoneArena’s battery results
LTT Labs reports test counts and ranges
LTT Labs lists the OnePlus 15 with two tests: a 1,750-minute minimum, a 1,779-minute average, and a 1,808-minute maximum. Its displayed Galaxy S26 Ultra and iPhone 17 Pro Max entries each have one test. The OnePlus range is a small sample, and the unequal counts make it difficult to draw firm conclusions about how much results vary from run to run. LTT Labs’ phone battery-life meta-analysis

What the results mean for your phone choice
If your priority is the longest runtime in this specific controlled comparison, the OnePlus 15 is the clear result: it lasted more than six hours longer than the iPhone 18 Pro Max and more than eight hours longer than the Galaxy S26 Ultra in standard display mode. Treat that as a result for the stated workload, not a forecast for every user or carrier.
- For heavy web use: the 5G browsing test offers a relevant comparison, provided your settings and signal conditions are reasonably similar.
- For gaming, video, or navigation: look for results measured under that workload. Browsing endurance alone cannot establish which phone lasts longest while gaming or streaming.
- For everyday mixed use: no universal winner is established across regions, carriers, signal conditions, software builds, and personal habits. Your combination of active and background tasks will affect the outcome.
Battery capacity in milliamp-hours by itself would not settle this comparison: the relevant evidence here is measured runtime under a defined test, and the cited sources do not establish one universal everyday-use winner.
