A July 31, 2025 report showed Arthur Morgan getting inside the chained outhouse at Braithwaite Manor, where Gertrude Braithwaite is visible. The reported trick uses careful maneuvering and a deer carcass, but the available account does not provide reproducible steps or identify the game platform or patch. The discovery is therefore best understood as a clip of a glitch, not a confirmed method for every copy of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Where is the chained outhouse in RDR2?
It is on the grounds behind Braithwaite Manor. Approaching the structure normally prompts a reaction from the woman inside, and the outhouse is marked as a point of interest. She is Gertrude Braithwaite, a member of the family associated with the manor.

How did players get inside?
Angharad Redden’s GamingBible report, published July 31, 2025, describes maneuvering Arthur with a deer carcass to get him through the chained structure. The article links to a gameplay video shared on r/reddeadredemption; its poster says the original source is unknown, so no player can be reliably credited with discovering the trick.

The report does not give exact inputs or a step-by-step sequence, nor does it identify the platform, game version, or patch used in the clip. It is not enough information to promise that the maneuver can be repeated on PC, PlayStation, or Xbox, or that it works in every version. A GamingBible follow-up says Arthur was shown inside with Gertrude and died after lighting dynamite while she survived. That is an observation about the footage, not evidence that the encounter is intended or that Gertrude has a general invulnerability mechanic.

Is this the first discovery of Gertrude?
No. The 2025 story is about entering the outhouse. Gertrude and her dialogue were documented in a 2019 gameplay video, and ComicBook.com covered the mystery of her spoken numbers in 2021, including YouTuber Strange Man’s investigation. That earlier numbers mystery is separate from the later entry glitch.
