The Razer Reclusa X Mini 65% is a wired, hot-swappable mechanical keyboard that pairs a compact layout with tactile stock switches and a $49.99 launch price reported in September 2026. It is a persuasive entry-level option if you want arrow keys, switch-swapping flexibility, and a ready-to-use typing feel. It is less compelling if you need a function row, wireless connection, dedicated media controls, or an 8,000 Hz polling rate.
What the Reclusa X Mini 65% gives you
This is the first mechanical gaming keyboard in Razer’s Reclusa lineup. Its 65% layout is smaller than a tenkeyless board: it keeps the arrow and navigation keys, but removes the function row and number pad. That saves desk space while requiring shortcuts or a different keyboard for direct access to those missing keys.
The board connects over a detachable USB-C cable and has per-key Razer Chroma RGB, which Razer says supports 16.8 million colors. In the box, the keycaps are doubleshot ABS with a tri-tone design, and the switches are Razer Orange Tactile Mechanical Switches Gen-3. Razer describes the Orange switches as factory-lubricated, with a tactile bump and quieter actuation. Dual-layer silicone dampening sits inside the board.
Razer’s stated switch lifespan is 100 million keystrokes. That is a manufacturer rating, not an independently verified endurance result. The official support specification lists approximate dimensions of 311 × 102 × 37 mm and a weight of 707 g. It also lists no onboard memory and no included wrist rest.

How it feels out of the box
Independent reviewers were positive about the stock typing experience and construction, but those are subjective impressions from short review periods, not evidence of long-term durability. Windows Central’s Daniel Rubino said he used the board for ten days and praised its switch feel, build, dampening, and value at the reported $49.99 price. He also noted the compromises of a 65% layout and missed dedicated media controls.
PC Gamer’s reviewer similarly described the chassis as robust for its price and liked its sound and tactile switches. Sound and feel depend on personal preference, typing style, and surroundings; neither reviewer’s impressions establish what every buyer will prefer.

- FASTER THAN TRADITIONAL MECHANICAL SWITCHES — Razer Linear Optical switch technology uses optical beam-based actuation, registering key presses at the speed of light (15-30% shorter actuation distance than other linear switches at 1.0 mm)
- ULTIMATE PERSONALIZATION & GAMING IMMERSION WITH RAZER CHROMA RGB LIGHTING — Fully syncs with popular games, Razer hardware, Philips Hue, and gear from 30+ partners; supports 16.8 million colors on individually backlit keys from the world’s largest lighting ecosystem for gaming devices
- QUALITY, ALUMINUM CONSTRUCTION — Covered with a matte, aluminum top frame for increased structural integrity
- OIL-RESISTANT DOUBLESHOT PBT KEYCAPS — Made of textured, high-grade PBT for a more durable and textured finish less prone to long-term grime buildup
- FULLY PROGRAMMABLE MACROS — Razer Hypershift allows for all keys and keypress combinations to be remapped to execute complex commands
Switch and keycap compatibility
Razer says the hot-swap PCB works with most standard 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches, so you can replace switches without soldering. Compatibility is not a guarantee that every switch will fit or behave as intended: check the exact switch’s physical and electrical requirements before buying. Razer specifically recommends its separately sold Green Clicky and Yellow Linear switches as alternatives.

The board’s south-facing LEDs broaden compatibility with aftermarket keycaps. Still, check any keycap set against the Reclusa’s 65% layout and key sizes before ordering; a set described as compatible with 65% boards may not include every nonstandard key size you need.

Gaming features and the polling-rate tradeoff
The Reclusa X Mini polls at 1,000 Hz over its wired connection. Razer’s support specification also lists anti-ghosting, key rollover, programmable keys, macro recording, gaming mode, secondary media keys, and Synapse 4 support. Named input features include Snap Tap, Snap Flex, and Dual-Keypress Priority.
These features do not make it an 8,000 Hz keyboard. PC Gamer notes that some esports-focused buyers may prefer that higher polling rate. The supplied reviews do not establish a measured latency advantage in real games, so the feature list alone is not a reason to expect a particular competitive result. For general gaming and typing, decide whether the 1,000 Hz specification and Razer’s input features meet your needs before paying extra for a board centered on higher polling or Hall-effect behavior.

Price and who should buy it
Windows Central reported a $49.99 launch price in its September 11, 2026 review. That is a dated launch snapshot, not a guaranteed current price; check the price and availability where you plan to buy.
- It makes sense if: you want a compact wired board that keeps arrow keys, prefer tactile switches, and value the option to swap standard 3-pin or 5-pin switches later.
- Look elsewhere if: you rely on a function row or number pad, want wireless use or dedicated media controls, or specifically need an 8,000 Hz polling rate or Hall-effect features.
PC Gamer compared the Reclusa with the Gamakay x NaughShark NS68, noting that the latter offers Hall-effect switches and more software options. That reviewer preferred the Reclusa’s build, stock switch feel, and ordinary out-of-box use. It is one reviewer’s judgment, not a universal ranking: buyers who prioritize Hall-effect behavior or extensive configuration may weigh the tradeoff differently.
Best Value
- FAST MECHANICAL SWITCHES — Razer Optical switches use light-based actuation, registering key presses at the speed of light (30% shorter actuation distance than other clicky switches at 1.5 mm) with satisfying, clicky feedback

- FULLY PROGRAMMABLE MACROS — Razer Hypershift allows for all keys and keypress combinations to be remapped to execute complex commands
Overall, the Reclusa X Mini 65% looks like a strong value when its layout and wired-only design suit you. Its appeal is the combination of tactile stock switches, dampening, lighting, and solder-free switch customization—not a promise of top-tier polling or long-term reliability.
